funnaaay! You seem to have taken offense to the fact that University in Australia have a shit/wanky grading system. It was not my intention to cause offense and I sincerely apologise, it was merely an observation. Although I did find you bringing out a "top 50 Universities" list hilarious so thanks for that.
Since you won?t answer, I looked it up myself. They generally give A-E marks. These correspond directly with a percentage i.e. A = 85 and above. This is exactly the same as a HD.
In other words, you are an idiot.
Fast Eddie has never been to University and wouldn't to feel included in the discussion.
Yep because using words that actually have a clear meaning as opposed to letters, is really wanky. It was just another typical douchey fast eddie post.In other words you are a complete muppet who obviously can not see that my point was that changing the names to things like 'distinction' and 'credit' or whatever is what I was calling wanky. I'll give you distinction for your attempt though.

The grading system is lame and seems unnecessary to me, besides below 50 being a fail and 50+ being a pass.
I wish they'd just take your average based on your actual (numerical) mark. Then they could put that into a grade if they must. Really it just frustrates me that 64 is worth the same as 50, 100 the same as 85, etc. Take the numerical average, then grade that for GPA.
Similarly I don't think someone who gets 6 as their final mark should be classified as having achieved as much as someone who got 49. There should still be the pass requirement of 50 on courses though.
You can usually get a conceded pass if you got 49.
this is exactly right. I think the academics at a particular institution should factor into decision making too. Not so much for undergrad, but a great deal for post grad, but with post grad, the general way of doing things is to go to whoever offers you the biggest scholarship and the biggest research stipendAnd yeah, that top 50 universities thing is absolute tripe...loved the nuffies at school who chose based on that. It's all well and good if any of them offer the degree you want to do, but people who chose degrees based on the uni? LMAO
I've heard that Australian unis across the board were aiming at abolishing both, I agree with getting rid of bell curves, they are a geniused way to grade, but I'm a bit on the fence about getting rid of the pass conceded...We don't have pass conceded or bell curves.. Or at least that's what they tell us.
It was just another typical douchey fast eddie post.
