Vale: Steve Blyth

Wests Tigers are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Wests Magpies Player #718 Steve Blyth.

Steve, aged 69, had been suffering from dementia and passed away in Gosford Hospital.

A Berala Bears junior, Steve was graded with Western Suburbs in 1974 and played 49 first grade games over five seasons.

I've finally caught up with this thread and I'm gob smacked with the number of notables of our sport passing the baton this year.
To those who have departed I hope your next journey will be peaceful and just as fulfilling as the one you left.
The grand final pre-game presentations this year will have a lot of legends to say goodbye to.
One of David's greatest calls.

Vale John Bilbija

Former Balmain, Wests Magpies forward John Bilbija has died aged 65 - yet another victim of early onset dementia.
The ex hard man, who had lost much of his cognitive ability and was just a shell of the man who graced Sydney football field in the 1980s and '90s, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his Penrith home on Sunday.
Rest in peace cobber.

I can still see that flick pass to Pringle. A tough bugger to boot.
I agree. He was a very talented forward. Sad to hear him leaving.
Condolences to his friends and loved one's.

He left some great memories with what he did for the club , just like all of our Brittish imports have over the years .... then along came Bateman ☹️
