Got to laugh.

Brent Read just had his segment on 2MMM “Readies Mail”.

Get’s on to the topic on Val Holmes.

Says mixed reports about how Val’s going in his bid to make it in the NFL. Some say that he’s very home sick. If he makes a teams 52 man squad he’d be on minimum $500 to $600k but if he only gets selected in a practise squad they only earn around $100k.

Says if he only made a practise squad he doesn’t think he’ll stay because he’s losing too much money then.

Apparently he’ll know in about 4 weeks time.

Then he goes if he doesn’t make it the Cowboys have their cheque books ready to sign him for this season. And wow they’d be a instant top 4 team!

Then I think it was Girdler who says. Wasn’t it a condition if he didn’t make it over there this year he could only play for the Sharks?

Then Brent Read goes “yeah but that was before the salary cap scandal judgement. They can’t afford him they have to offload a player to be salary cap compliant by June 30. You wouldn’t think they’d stand in his way to join the Cowboys....” Mind you he doesn’t question if the Cowboys have room in their cap.

Well I got news for you Brent Read. I’m sure the Sharks will stand in his way for this year if he’s NFL dream turns to shyte. The kid broke his contract for a NFL dream this year. Fair enough. But there’s no f**king way I could see the Sharks letting him go to the Cowboys mid season if it all turns to shyte. Just so he can go to the Cowboys through the back door. Why the f**k would you want to give the Cowboys a leg up this season? f**k them and f**k Holmes if that ends up being his intention.

This year was always going to be NFL or the Sharks. Nothing else.
The sharks wouldn’t sign him and they don’t have to pay him or play him.
It wouldn’t cost a cent of the salary cap.

What an absolute dope

He can go to the Cowboys this year, don't matter what the Sharks say now. But I doubt the Nrl would allow it

Val will be in no fit state for rugby league this season anyway, even if he came back at this point.
Look at how big and heavy Hayne was when he came back. He's been training for the short burst explosive stuff required in NFL - he's not a an RL style pre-season and conditioning.
Wouldn't want him back just for 2019.

Let’s hope he gets picked up by a team over there. No way I want to see him going over to the smug North Queensland Cowboys.

Would be good to see him back in the NRL eventually, and then see Prior and Feefs rush out of the line and knock him into the middle of next week for dogging the boys the way he did.

Yeah Angry he has bulked up.

The rookie combine happened already for the Draft eligible players
so I guess this is a different thing. he will be having workouts with different scouts to make practice squads.

The Draft is April 25-27 US so 26-28 here. he wont be apart of that but after that players will be signed to practice squads etc.

He will get signed to a practice squad and we see from there.
