It's extremely frustrating, the guy was heading towards becoming a superstar of the game and he had a year left on his contract. I've followed him from day 1 when he signed on from the Cows as a kid..

What a waste.
I'm not sure if he ever played in the Cows rep sides up there mate. Someone with better knowledge will be able to confirm.

The face of his generation. Should never had been offered that amount of money anyway because he simply isn't good enough, fast enough or strong enough.
His contribution to the gf victory was less than that of Gerard Beale.

He helped you guys get a premiership....be happy for that.
I coulda played on the end of ben barba in '16 and got 20 pies.

I just wouldve done boring put-downs though, not the high dives. So no NFL career for me.

If he had any brains at all he wouldve used this year to get stronger and build his resume in this game.

Hes making breaks at the moment in a game against guys 90 kgs in a straight line who have bad defensive habits or young guys making debuts or broken chasing lines.

I dont follow NFL but l knkw its a different defensive grid. Guys much bigger. Faster. Harder. Nobody below superstar gets a start there as they have millions of young high school and college stars all vying for the few openings.

Holmes aint as good as hayne and he was told he would never make it.

I'm not angry at the pin up boy for over rated footballers at all Frenzy. I am incredibly grateful for him Pizzing off. Biggest bullet dodged by our club since Edelsten.

Meh, he's gone and will never return. He'll end up at the Cows or the Roosters, nothing surer.
This. I can already see him in his Cows jersey at the unveiling in less than 12-months.

Uncle Nick’s stuffing the brown paper bag for the gazump contract as we lick the tips of our penii over SJ.

Ta ta. Ta ta. Bon Voyage. Fair the well Oh Holmes of Valentines.

as far as I’m aware mate, he was never in any official cowboys sides as a kid. Maybe NQ rep shit but kids with contracts with other clubs play that, it’s purely representational. We really blew it by not identifying him, you guys did all the hard work.

Personally when the rumours come out that he wanted out, We should have granted him that wish the club could have done more to keep the likes of Ramien......

Got to laugh.

Brent Read just had his segment on 2MMM “Readies Mail”.

Get’s on to the topic on Val Holmes.

Says mixed reports about how Val’s going in his bid to make it in the NFL. Some say that he’s very home sick. If he makes a teams 52 man squad he’d be on minimum $500 to $600k but if he only gets selected in a practise squad they only earn around $100k.

Says if he only made a practise squad he doesn’t think he’ll stay because he’s losing too much money then.

Apparently he’ll know in about 4 weeks time.

Then he goes if he doesn’t make it the Cowboys have their cheque books ready to sign him for this season. And wow they’d be a instant top 4 team!

Then I think it was Girdler who says. Wasn’t it a condition if he didn’t make it over there this year he could only play for the Sharks?

Then Brent Read goes “yeah but that was before the salary cap scandal judgement. They can’t afford him they have to offload a player to be salary cap compliant by June 30. You wouldn’t think they’d stand in his way to join the Cowboys....” Mind you he doesn’t question if the Cowboys have room in their cap.

Well I got news for you Brent Read. I’m sure the Sharks will stand in his way for this year if he’s NFL dream turns to shyte. The kid broke his contract for a NFL dream this year. Fair enough. But there’s no f**king way I could see the Sharks letting him go to the Cowboys mid season if it all turns to shyte. Just so he can go to the Cowboys through the back door. Why the f**k would you want to give the Cowboys a leg up this season? f**k them and f**k Holmes if that ends up being his intention.

This year was always going to be NFL or the Sharks. Nothing else.
