Arhh no. To use the most loved quote on the boards go back and read what I said. I said it would be at least an acceptable form of Protest. I still think fans should turn up. If they don't that is their call, the have full reason not to, but I just don't think that are fans when you look at the meaning of the word.
Sorry MITS but it is patronising to suggest that if someones chosen method of protest doesn't measure up to what you feel is "acceptable" that their standing as a "fan" is in question.
Acceptable implies that the object of the protest has the right to decide what the protester does.

Fine its patronising, what do I care. I honestly think that if you don't turn up when the sides going poorly, you don't deserve to share in the spoils.

BTW I am not talking about their "Standing" as a fan. I am talking about the literal meaning of the word fan, which comes from fanatical supporter. I can't see a fanatical supporter saying, I am not going to go because they aren't playing well. They are fanatical about their side and will turn up to see them play.

If you want to get pedantic-fanatical is over zealous ,obsessed, extreme.Nothing to do with going to the game or not .It is about being obsessed with the team-maybe even obsessed with them winning but not exclusively or especially showing obsession by turning up.

Geez guys... Parra are playing ordinary, sure. But you're still in spitting distance of a finals berth despite the crap footy. Do you see Dogs, Cowboys fans turning away? I haven't seen anyone on these forums denounce their team from those supporter bases.

I don't get how you could vote with your feet to walk away from the games when it's now that they need you more than ever...? Chin up guys - it will get better, and I hope it does for all your sakes.

I won't be turning up again for a while either.
It has cost me over $500 to make it to the last 2 games and I haven't walked out satisfied I got my moneys worth.

Timmah, that might go a little way to explain why some fans feel the way they do.

Interest rates, petrol prices.....etc.......
A lot of people have priorities.

Then again, when some people play football for 8 months of the year, and earn over $200 000 a year+, this might be hard to understand.

Yes Hellsy. We know.

Good just checking.... as I am certainly not thinking the way of many in this thread, fan/non-fan/part-time fan/fan on verge of turning back etc etc but I can understand why the thoughts are there.

If they do it in a constructive way. Actually turn up to the venue but don't go inside. I think that would be better than what people are suggesting. As it would be an actual protest instead of what I would call fans sitting on their arse at home and deluding themselves into believing it is some sort of noble protest.
You keep using the word "Noble" I never said I was noble dont you get it? Im sick of going to the games and watching a bunch of disinterested hacks, MITS I dont know your connections to the club and frankly I dont care, in saying this though you appear from you posts to be a decent level headed guy, unfortunatly though it appears these connections in my opinion make you paint a rosie picture no matter how we are travelling, the truth of the matter is this club is in trouble and I dont see one saviour in the whole place, yet you and a couple of other want us to pretend everything is fine take our medicine shut your mouth and support the team and get on with, though its painfully clear people are fed up and feel this may be the only way to say we as fans are now playing hardball, and where do you as a club stand, and to be honest Ive never seen a team so disinterested in their fans. That historical day at hombush so much as proved that anyway, or do we have excuses for that to, supporter again were treated with contempt, trust I me was there, the only bonus is I saved my cash because there was nothing out to purchase.

I know mate, I know. But again if that is all you are looking at then surely you arn't in for the protest about their Playing peformance, you are "voting" because they arn't winning.

As I said, Fickle.
THEY ARENT TRYYYYING, AND i KNOW THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE LOSING TO TEAMS THEY SHOULDNT BE, WHAT DO MANLEY, RAIDERS, TITANS, SOUTHS, HAVE IN COMMON, PASSSSION YOU STILL DONT APPEAR TO UNDERSTAND ACCEPT WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING. BELIEVE IT OR NOT IF THEY WERE LOSING BUT TRYING THEIR WOULD BE NO ISSUE, TRUE.

I bet they wouldn't. Narrow losses albeit putting in and digging deep would hardly satisfy Ram, Tekken Lord & Co.

(To paraphrase and correct me if I'm wrong) A loss is a loss and they demand results. No point in settling for mediocrity.

The results they are after is a premiership. If you comb through their posts they don't even consider that we had a good year last year - even though we got beat in the game before the GF by the eventual winners.

Gronk... mate its not about winning ever.

Its about the effort
Its about the behavior of our players (representatives of our club) when out in the general community
Its about the Management and the direction we are heading or lack there of.

This year we have lost Tony Williams, John Mannah & Trent Hodgkinson three of our most promising youngsters. What did this club, the CEO and the coach do about it? Nothing

Our club's survival is under threat. Yet we have seen no evidence to increase our revenues. Our CEO just prefers to lobby the govt to reduce the tax instead.

The number of off field discretions by our players have increased in the last couple of years, what is the management doing about it.

Our team constantly looks and plays like rabble, but our coach refuses to make any changes.

Its all these things that sadden me as a fan and I feel that we have to do something to make the management sit up and notice our concerns. If boycotting will do that then I am all for it.

BTW I have been following the eels only for the last 7 years, but I don't see how that would make me any lesser fan than you.
