Vlandys should have said, we'd love to see the Bears brand back in NRL but its important that a new city feel an ownership of their club and so it would need to be a respectful partnership. Leading Bears staff and fans down the path every time is pretty cruel just to get some media inches.
Unless he is truthful about it

Pretty much that Western Force needs the Bears and rugby league to survive...

Actually I really don't know... just going of on the headline.
Maybe seeing the rebels faulter, is scaring the force captain enough to want a back up option in his local city, incase the same fate should occur (doubtful under twiggys cashflow tho)

I cannot see the Bears permanently relocating their operations to another city.

South Melbourne and Fitzroy ceased to exist.

Bears want to have a foot in two camps.
Both still exist.

The Sydney Swans are South Melbourne. Sure they changed ownership a few times, but they're still technically the same club. Their former juniors clubs still operates independently out of South Melbourne as well.

Fitzroy FC never went away either, and are still kicking around in the lower tiers to this day.

Endorsed by Fitzy - it’s happening!

calling them the “Bush Bears” and have them holding the torch for North Sydney while playing games at Inverell, Wagga Wagga, Cootamundra, Gosford and Mudgee? It’s a no-brainer. Each of those towns would build festivals around their match ever year, you would give a new but happier definition to “Bush League” and all of those towns could count on spendthrift visits by the denizens of Cammeray and Cremorne.

Fitzy has given the greatest argument for not doing it.
Coota for example has a population of 6000. Les Boyd is on the council (as a councillor not on the road gang) so at least he would turn up

He is a RU supporter who has written many articles crapping on league.

It is a daft opinion about something league related, a bit like RU is going to buy all the great league players or that the Storm would fold or relocate due to the Rebels (that one is particularly golden)

PERTH’S EXPANSION TALKS

ARL Commission boss Peter V’landys has held talks with Western Australia premier Roger Cook as Perth’s NRL expansion bid gathers pace.

While PNG is the frontrunner to win the NRL’s 18th licence, V’landys confirmed the governing body is looking to ‘Go West’ to give the NRL a truly national footprint beyond eastern-seaboard dominance.

It is understood Cook is hellbent on winning an NRL licence – the state has hosted two State of Origin games in the past five years – and V’landys says Perth is a genuine option for expansion.

“We’ve had numerous meetings with the WA premier,” V’landys said.

“He is excellent to work with, he is very, very good.

“Because of his commitment and passion, it certainly puts Perth high on the agenda.

“The premier of WA’s commitment will go a long way during the expansion process _ his drive and enthusiasm is certainly a factor.

V’landys believes Perth forming a strategic alliance with North Sydney, tapping into the power of the foundation Bears brand, would give WA instant credibility as an NRL operation.

“Perth is one of the main considerations and that’s where the Bears could come into the equation,” he said.

“There’s various options for them and one of them is to do something with Perth.

“That region is high on the agenda and we have looked at that area with the Bears being involved.

“That’s the sort of work we will be doing when planning our growth strategy.

“I could certainly see a situation where we have the Perth Bears playing two games at North Sydney Oval and the rest in Perth.”

It was all fine till the last sentence. I hope he means a couple of trials.

I'd give them one trial at NSO and the other to showpiece around Perth. The Bears already have multiple matches in Sydney, albeit as the away team.
Jesus, what a way to get all jewbag...
Yek shemesh... throw the jew down the well!
