Is that goal posts being shifted ?

That’s another issue entirely and a separate discussion

The issue is can the bears area produce a lot of juniors for rugby league more than it does today

I thought the argument you are unsuccessfully making is that he has been lost to the NRL because the Bears don’t have a pathway for him through to the NRL?

Having the bears in the nrl will help benefit juniors in their area from now

Doesn’t sound like you have an argument against it either

Which is the exact reason why the bears are coming back (plus lost fans)

The Bears have a pathway now affiliated with another NRL club …

It’s funny seeing you trying to wriggle out of something which is obvious

So the decline in bears juniors since they lost a team is of no impact on juniors numbers in the area ?

And yes or no will having the bears in the nrl improve their junior numbers

It’s not a hard question even for you

And get rid of the new investors they have for the bid. Some who are rumoured to be worth over 500 million

No chance
Not to sound like Pippen but what investors? I thought the NRL was going to set it up and own it? Are you know saying they are back happy with a private investment model?

Mate..:you are the one jumping all over the place with irrelevant maps and links …. Your argument you are trying to make with the Asquith player proves absolutely nothing

Do you think PVL just made up the $12m a year figure?

There is clearly more needed than only $2m a year. There are 3 clubs advising on this subject
Absolutely I do, probably based on what Tassie govt has committed. There is no way in the world WA needs $12mil a year for 10 years to improve things.

This would be more than adequate
10 year agreement:
NRL put in $1mill extra year to NRLWA
Club commits $2mil a year investment to pathways
WA Govt commits $2mill a year to NRLWA

Said it loads of times lol

I think the nrl are bs when they said they will own and run it

Especially when they have the Sydney investors sorted out or close to

That’s why the article on rejecting private ownership was stupid

Totally garbage imo

I’m taking your ignoring the question that you know I’m right

Thanks

I’m asking you to explain the relevance of your link about the Asquith player and how he would have remained in the NRL if the Perth Bears were in the comp …

It should be some interesting speculation on your behalf at the very least … as I’m sure you don’t know him personally

I know you've said it but there has been nothing at all in the media about new investors. Everything has been about NRL owning the club. Do you know who these investors are or how real that is?

Well the lack of players produced, schools playing and so on shows work is needed.

I'd take the opinions of 3 NRL club chairmen over anyone on this forum

Whilst we cant possibly say what any individual would do in his choices I guess the notion is that with increased investment and a better semi direct pathway to NRL for NS jnrs we woudl see more coming through from that region than we do currently.

Its interesting the only extra investment in NS jnrs we have heard about came from 4 positions the Western Bears where going to fund. You'd think Norths might up the paltry amount they put in?

If Asquith can produce a wallaby without an nrl club imagine how many good players the area can produce with the bears back

Not rocket surgery this

Its nonsense, we are where we are with playing numbersand the occasional NRL player being produced on less than $1mill a year. Up that to $3mill for NRLWA and a club running quality local pathways costing $2mill and you'd see WA as strong and productive as any NRL club region. We already have more registered players than a lot of NRL club catchment regions.

but my argument countering these points … is that there are pathways for North Sydney area players already with junior teams in the NSWRL and then an affiliated NRL club

Of course more money invested into North Sydney juniors will assist in the future if the Perth Bears get the nod…. But I’m assuming that most development money will be deployed in WA?

I think its fair to say brand matters, kids growing up in that region are probably not dreaming of playing for Storm or Roosters or whoever was NS NRL link up at that time. I guess the idea is to reinvigorate the Bears brand with those younger generations and have them dreaming of one day playing for the 'insert name here' Bears in the NRL.

Western Bears had committed to fund 4 positions in the NSFC to give them more resource. At moment Norths LC only puts in about $300k a year to NSFC, you'd hope they might get a bit more enthusiastic about supporting Jnr RL in the region with a direct NRL partnership? But yes the club plan was to self fund the WA based elite pathways. We didnt get chance to see what that model was and what teams they intended to run out of WA in tandem with teams out of NS.

So you expect to fund more referees, coaches, ground hire to grow that 4k junior base to say 10-20k that it would take to have a decent FG squad of locals.

Run Matts, Ball and Flegg for the amount Penrith spend on their pathways?

That is what you and your tight ass pawnbroker mate don't understand.

The NRL clubs have seperate arms funding junior Leagues in their area.

If you add up what the NSW Clubs spend combined

Do the same for QLD

It is way more than $12m a year.

That is before you get to the Pathway spends

These districts have pools of refs and so on from their history.

Starting up new districts in WA doesn't have that
