Glad to see that the original requirement to play 2x Premiership games at North Sydney Oval has become just 1x Premiership game in NSW, which can be at any venue (with NSO, AS & CC being the preferred)

At least now with the Westerm Bears able to pick any ground, they can at least make sure the token game is commercially viable and played in front of a decent sized crowd.

Am I the only one still disappointed that it appears one home premiership game in Sydney looks to be locked in (in addition to a pre-season game)?

One pre-season game, sure, no problem. I have zero issues with that. But a home premiership game as well? Being played in a market that has literally hundreds of games per year already being played? Nope. I don't like that.

As long as Perth don't have to give up a home game for Magic round or have to take a game to the bush, then they would be getting 11 Perth games regardless which will be the same (or more) than most of the league (and the same as the AFL sides and far more than the Farce)

No need to look for negatives in what is overridingly a positive move for the sport.

Like it or not the North Sydney side of the venture is worth cultivating, the Bears had some blue-chip sponsors in the day and demographically it is a very wealthy area.
I know people like to mock these chardonnay-sipping supporters but frankly League doesn`t have enough of them.
So as we have seen with the Vegas venture there is nothing like playing for premiership points. So if we are going to cultivate this crowd a home game in full-Noth Sydney Bear`s regalia is probably not a bad way to start.

Classic Perth Red gaslighting. I didn't expect anything less.

Sydney is the biggest Rugby market on planet earth, pulling them along for the ride won't hurt!

Crowds will dictate if it continues though.

Souths first game back was about 36,000, surely new Allianz would sell out for the Bears

If they have to have a regular season game in Sydney I’d prefer Allianz and they try and fill the joint, at least while the novelty is still there. Could get involved with Eora round maybe.

A game in NSW should be on the condition that Perth never host Magic and get 11 games in WA which is in line with Melbourne, Auckland, Gold Coast etc. Perth might want to make sure they have a game at Optus that outdraws Allianz though or you’d never hear the end of it.

Optus outdrawing Allianz wouldn't be hard, you can fit the Roosters fanbase into a London phonebox.
