They’re not spending $20mill, they’d need to spend $50mill. They might get their money back in around 2055 lol.
like I said investment groups aren’t exactly knocking down the nrls door to own a new license. Put a $50mill price tag on it and they’d have no one other than a pokie backed bid, maybe.

$30m is the start up costs. That is different again there is nothing in place so the start up costs are more

Souths really went from being kicked out for being so worthless to being worth $80 Mil after 22 years?
When they were kicked out the criteria was rigged against them

Super League clubs had news ltd sponsorship included

Arl clubs like Souths and Gold Coast were rorted

Good coast had one million in the bank which wasn’t included in the finance assessment

Even with news ltd pumping Cronulla full of money they were basically insolvent from 98 to 2015

Gold Coast were already out by the time the 16 remaining clubs were ranked for the criteria.

That's interesting about Cronulla since they ranked so high on it.

They are one example of private ownership gone well but I believe Souffs Juniors have a 25% ownership on the fans behalf.

Shows the strength of assets.

During that time Penrith agreed to merge with Parra and just scrapped in. So to have those 2 Top of the Sydney teams shows how far the game has come

Souths juniors wanted to own the club in the 80s piggins wouldn’t allow it (which prob saves them)

The 25 percent is owned on behalf of Souths members not the juniors

His whole argument is Perth shouldn’t pay a license fee because established nrl clubs are. Worth 20 million

Souths is an old sale now and that was for 80 million valuation and since then the money to clubs has gone up by 2 million plus per club

The reporting around it was a mess but Souths fans 25% can't be sold.

So Mike Cannon-brooks bought 25% of the other 75%

Yeah

I don’t get it. It’ll be be open the next day.
Agree.

The worst recent one was the Swatch x Omega first day. All over world lines outside Swatch stores and only enough watches for the first couple of hundred people. Then the profiteering started, some selling to others further down the line, others on eBay wanting $thousands for a plastic, quartz watch. It’s nice enough, but not that nice imo .
