What club ONLY recruits from their area?
None, and nor will we. But that has nothing to do with how many jnrs does an NRl club need in its catchment area to be producing players. Currently that sits at around 4-6k for most clubs. WA will have more than that without $12mill spent a year lol

Why would a kid who grows up in North Sydney, be more likely to play NRL because there is a team in Perth? If they want to play, they'll go to one of the 9 teams down the road, not fly to the other side of the country.
Perth will have systems in NS so Sydney kids wont have to go anywhere until they are ready for first grade, thats the point of a partnership!

Yep. That is the point lost if you are building up a State's player numbers it takes money.

PR is comparing apples v oranges again.

State v NRL district
eh? Its not like Perth wont be signing the best jnr talent they can from everywhere, same as everyone else. What it will also be doing though is adding to that talent pool through improvements in WA numbers and elite local pathways. I doubt most clubs have more than 3 or 4 players in their starting 17 that are genuine locals. I can eventually see WA actually bettering that. And it wont need 20k Jnrs or $120mill to do it lol

Nah, that’s just your silly anti-PVL view.

Needs a tad more propaganda.

I’m glad that works for them …

Melbourne have gone down another path and had just as much if not more success .., and the Storm’s path is going to be a lot closer to what the Perth Bears will look like rather than Penriths
Pvl won’t be admitting another Melbourne storm into the comp

No juniors no license

You can’t compare Perth numbers to eastern states

Perth numbers are basically participation

Sydney numbers are elite

How many Perth juniors would make it in Sydney comps? One in ten if you are lucky

eh? Perth jnrs will be playing in Sydneys elite jnr comps. Id expect at least a Hm ball, SG ball and Flegg side to be run out of WA eventually, complimented by improved NS teams in those comps.
Pointless debate anyway, WA govt has told Vlad to sick it if he thinks hes getting $120mill out of them :)

And out of the starting 17 in each age bracket 90 percent will be Sydney kids

Even after ten years Perth will be lucky to produce 2 or 3 nrl players a year

If you are talking about north Sydney juniors then that’s different to Perth kids

In reality if we get 3-4 WA players in the starting 17 every year that's a great achievement and is on par with most clubs production quota from genuine local Jnrs.

Sure if that’s how you want to look at

3 for a whole state is pretty crap

That’s why the bears link up is crucial
