It is a WA club fully owned and operated just with the bears logo (which is an awesome heritage foundation brand). Don’t get why it needs to be ‘tweaked’ to make it ‘feel more WA’.

The LV Raiders is the same.
The Swans is the same.

its still a Perth club the whole of WA can get behind with a cool meaningful brand behind it rather than a generic moniker plucked out of a marketing agency.

At best 200 million is purely for rugby league

Tasmanian afl side is getting 1.2 billion in comparison

Cowboys got 350 million for a stadium nobody else uses

Giants got 250 million in various stadiums some they don’t even use

If the bears were getting sole use of hbf park maybe you could count that as part of the spend

But not only will a league and super rugby will use, both mens and woman’s soccer and union teams will as well

It's just really negative and whinging behaviour. The bear is great iconography for a sporting team and the colours are great. There's some depth and history to it. It could be a lot worse (See GC Suns, GWS Giants).

It looks like it's what's happening, so either you can find a way to get behind and support it, or stay stuck in a negative paralysis over a logo.

You've literally just said so yourself with the comment about being called vipers or cobras!

The NEW WA club needs a brand that reflects its WA home, respects the heritage of the NS history and is something the club can be proud of for the next 25 years (ie doesnt date quickly, is digital era appropriate and screams Perth or WA).

the thing is none of these blokes are the fan base. even the west aussie crew have their own teams one with dragons one with tigers one knights.
