Would you consider the original Sydney or Brisbane changes acceptable to their heritage brands?I kind of agree with the other bloke that if you're going to use the Bears brand and logo then use it, don't bastardise it into something only vaguely resembling it. Either create a new brand or use Bears. It looks like were using Bears, ok great let's support it.
Why are they the only two examples?Would you consider the original Sydney or Brisbane changes acceptable to their heritage brands?
Probably because they are the only two Australian examples remotely like what is proposed, ie the moving of a brand from one city to another. Why are they the only two examples?
How’s Brisbane the sameProbably because they are the only two Australian examples remotely like what is proposed, ie the moving of a brand from one city to another.
Fair call, the Swans are an example of how youchange a logo to represent the new city the brand belongs to.How’s Brisbane the same
They took the Fitzroy lions, merged them with the Brisbane bears then killed off the bears name for the lions
If that’s your benchmark then this isn’t even close to that
That's what shotgun weddings does. Wests tigers fans are still arguing about colours.Only in Rugby League can a fanbase be so divided and argumentative about such trivial things.
Forced marriages rarely work out well for both partners. As was the case here. That's what shotgun weddings does. Wests tigers fans are still arguing about colours.
I'm sure now both Sydney and Brisbane are considered successful marriages or rising phoenix if you will. The main reason they are successful is that the new club are fully controlled by the new market/franchise. Any bickering that went on during the 80s and 90s about the colours, jumper and logo are long forgotten.Forced marriages rarely work out well for both partners. As was the case here.
Thats the point, there are wildly different views on it from what I have experienced on social media.I'm sure now both Sydney and Brisbane are considered successful marriages or rising phoenix if you will. My point was why are people so focused on the colours, jumper and logo? Yes it must respect NS, but to what degree would changes be accepted by NS supporters? You're never going to please everyone. Whether a few people in Perth or NS are disappointed initially what is vital is the club has a united board working together in the best interest of Perth its home.
Not from the swans on the lake?Ironically the Sydney Swans got their name from a large group of Western Australian footballs joining the South Melbourne club in 1930s.
You can google it, I read a plaque at the Australian Sports Museum located at the MCG.Not from the swans on the lake?
I prefer bloods.

Not at all, after all I was there every weekend signing over 8,000 Central Coast Bears members only for the NRL to keep moving the goal posts on us.Thats true lol. NS fans losing their sht about the bear changing must have forgotten about this
