While I believe a lot of the narrative, especially when RTS showed up and started wanting the extras (sprint coach etc) compared to current squad. But why let Lino go? Unless they underrated him also.

I guess they let Lino go because at that point they expected SJ to stay and Lino thought he'd done enough this year to earn a proper shot as a FG half.

Lino asked for a release and, I guess, the Warriors had no reason to deny him.

Interested to see who signs him for a 1 year stint

I don’t really see any benefit for that club having him for a year, which just stunts growth of people coming through for a year

For me, if you are signing a person for 1 year, they are a gun for hire, and they are there because they are capable of taking you to that next step and delivering a grand final. SJ doesn’t fit that bill

Old Lowie says he does... despite the rather obvious evidence to the contrary - guess that's why he never got terribly close at Manly lol

I'd take a year of a Thurston/Cronk/Smith etc if we got a premiership :)

What's also interesting is (presumably) the Roosters going after him? He's no Cronk, in fact he's I think more like Moylan or Keary... hard to see how Keary and Johnson would go brilliantly, they'd be better off with Pearce...

Also, on Lino - I just don't get it - he was behind Johnson and Green here, so went to a club on the improve where he'd be behind Pearce, Ponga, Watson, and perhaps others...

Was thinking the same in regards to a partnership with Keary, although Keary strikes me as someone who could probably lead a side around the park if needed

Lino, have a gut feel Brown is looking at him as a 9 or 14, Griffin out for most of the year and he doesn’t seem to rate Levi at all

He has shown he can... I guess on occasion SJ has too, but neither has done it consistently - Keary of course has had limited chances...

Obviously the Roosters are the big favourites, which puts the Sharks in an interesting situation - they have Moylan and Townsend, and Dugan can play 1 - so Johnson's not really an upgrade in the halves, and for 1 year would just stymie Moylan's development - and Moylan has huge potential.

What about Melbourne - Cam Smith one year, then Johnson?

Storm would Ben interesting, Bellamy is very rigid with his game plan so Shaun would have to change his style a fair bit

I see chat popping up that the Warriors are targeting an 18 year old Eels player, set to offer a 6 year deal

A Sterling, Jason Bell, or atom Smith? Hope it's a Sterling, but TBH we don't have a great development record

Extremely left field here, no rumour or anything attached to it, just cooked up in my head, but I believe both Smith and O’Sullivan have links to Todd Carney from their Roosters days, give him a shot

In the latter years, all of the stuff he was getting in trouble for was harmless, I don’t think he would be a huge knock to the culture

Now I’ll go back to dreaming because it is 0% chance of happening
