One up rubbish would have gotten us some trys today. That's not what they did though.

I can't get over how terrible Mullo was. He's had some shockers before but that was something else.

How was that "Non-Bennett"? It was totally him. Bar the mistakes. It was the first game I've been to in years and I was bored stiff. Least entertaining team to date.

One up?? They kept going sideways before earning the right to. Going one up every ruck would have been more effective

Yes! Thank God I'm not the only one that saw it that way. We would have won that if we just played some basic, no frills committed football. The Tits were there for the taking. Look how they fell off BJ and Roberts when they ran at the line straight. We beat ourselves.

100% right. It can't be called "non-Bennett" just because we kept dropping the ball. It was Bennett style as always with a case of the dropsies being the cherry on top.

"Non-Bennett" would mean we attacked with creativity and flair, and looked like we had a clue inside the opposition 20-metre zone.

We went sideways at the wrong time a lot, granted. We also did a lot of one-up shit where we just kept getting dominated too. We couldn't put on a smooth backline play if our lives depended on it. Seems like we either go straight forward or completely sideways where as good backline plays require both.

I know he had a horrible hammy injury and you give him a fair while to get back to being fairly right but he's been poor, very poor, most weeks. His kicking game in certain parts of the field is totally shit house. It was good to see him run the ball the past couple of weeks but he just can't put it all together in one game. His passing game, besides a long left to right ball, leaves a lot to be desired. He needs an organising half desperately and a coach who can get his runners to give him a few more attacking options when in the 20m zone. It's so predictable. I know it worked for Bennett at St George and for some reason they scored a thousand tries off the same second man play every week but the Titans today simply got up on our edge today, and we had ......... f**king nothing. We didn't even have the smarts to take advantage of what they were doing defensively. Someone finally turned the ball back in late in the game and low and behold there were gaping holes everywhere. Dumb.

I've cut Mullo a lot of slack this season because of his injury. Like you said they take a long time to get over and he did come back too early. I could understand it more though if he was just lacking confidence in his play. That's not the case though. He's playing stupid. That kick he did in the first half close to the line that flew over the dead ball line was so unlike him.

Said it in the other thread, but apparently since Mason moved in with Mullo he's been a terrible influence and I'm starting to believe it, just seems he's not completely into his footy. Missed at least six or seven tackles right in front of me, kicks are rarely finding the ground unlike last year.

I'm not gonna comment about all the spec about Mullo off the field but whatever it is, we need him to get his shit together or we need to move on from him. His poor form has been one of our fundamental issues this season and one of the massive differences between last year and this one. The first half of the season I gave him the benefit of the doubt due to his injury, but he's getting worse.

Since this thread is about coaching, I fear what will happen with him next year if we do appoint Stoney as coach. I know Mullo wants him to take over, but if he doesn't get his act together next year we know Stone won't do anything about it. He's known him too long and he was only playing slightly better than this during Stoney's rein and he never did anything about it.

If the stuff with Mason is in any way true then hopefully he'll piss off and Mullo takes a long hard look at himself. If not we've got this to look forward to until he either retires or a coach comes in that will make him accountable for his performance.

Heard same on Brennan. Sounds like a done deal. Maybe we can steal some Panthers juniors as payback. If Gould has big raps on the guy he has to be better than we were led to believe. He was bang on in his views on Cleary even before he was a first grade coach. Ivan as I recall was Gould's choice to coach the then Premier League side who won the comp in 2004.

I am warming to a complete new direction because after today, it's plainly apparent that the club is broken and we need to burn it down, salt the earth and start again with a completely new structure and personnel.
