At least he has the courage to drop players and won't take sh!t from anyone.

I am warming to a complete new direction because after today, it's plainly apparent that the club is broken and we need to burn it down, salt the earth and start again with a completely new structure and personnel.

Yep I had post some of the issues I'd heard about but they were removed by the moderators. The team is broken , I've read that Bennett had lost the dressing room some time ago. The boys arent happy and basically your right we need to start again. Lets hope we get to keep the good ones.

Bennetts reputation has taken a beating.

Now who has got their team playing consistently good football. They are 6th and where are we.

Their performance against the Warriors was unbelievable and it shows they have pride in the jersey which is clearly lacking with our hack of a coach.

Yeah, agree totally. The players aren't in charge and frankly whoever things they are needs to be moved on now.

None of them has done enough in the game to claim that sort of right and you've got to wonder who they think they are.

Griffin doesn't have too bad a roster though. Four origin players and a couple more getting close to selection this year. They really should be running 6th or higher. There's a lot of positives up there. Suncorp, Friday night games, professional outfit etc

I have no idea who would be the right fit for us. The bloke will need to be a deadset genius and one out of the box to get this club and team to where we'd all like it to be. Just where do you start?

Once the ownership issues are sorted I'd hope we get a boss like Gus to oversee the joint. I think we've got to start there.

Does he? They should be playing better given their roster imo. Their loss to the Sharks was comical

I dont rate their current structure nor the time it took for him to realise that Hunt was a bloody good half and completely wasted on the bench

I'm fairly sure that Garth Brennan coached Panthers U20's last year then got promoted to NSW Cup part way through the year. Know a young bloke playing for the Panthers - big wraps on Garth and the team was quite upset he left them.

Could be quite good for us.

Brennan is a bold choice but that is what we are in dire need of. Hopefully he has ideas that will make the players enthusiastic to be contenders again. A vision that he backs to show them what a team they can be as opposed to the boring workman like side they are. With our back line we should be a point scoring machine. I want us to go back to our fluid ball movement which while it had a degree of risk about it, it was so positive and entertaining to the masses. There is not enough love from coaches in the attacking side of the game anymore.

I really hate how the NRL has this pattern of plagiarism of the top sides in the game. Melbourne have been responsible for the over the top structure we see in sides now. Everyone tries to copy the best sides. What happened to actually playing football and finding a way to get through the wall? Roll the Frigging dice fellas.

Good mail Garth Brennan will be named as next year's coach in the next few weeks.

If this is the case I would be devastated for Stoney, but at the same time I think it would probably be better for the club. Originally I was all for Stone getting the job over Brennan, but given all the comments I've heard from people about some of the boys going off the rails this year I think we need someone new, and not someone like Stone who has been working with them forever and we know from experience won't cut them.

We need someone fresh to come in and nip the poor culture in the bud and put any players that are responsible for it on notice until they either get their shit together or leave.

The players shouldn't be allowed to run the joint and frankly I'd be hesitant to employ anyone that some of them suggest at the moment.

This article has kind of turned my opinion around a little. I still believe Bennett's style is outdated but his comments in the article really seem to Press the fact that the mentality of the team is really bad. But I don't truly get why. Bennett was that coach we are now asking for yet again to change the culture but even he couldn't get the team to catch on. Last year the boys did it for Buderus and almost made the GF. THIS year the team is almost the same but they have gone so far backwards.

Being able to watch them for the first time live today made me see how disconnected from the game they are. It was almost like they were fighting against the game plan and got so messed up in the head that everything just fell apart. They don't look happy and with Bennett coming out saying he's done trying for this team has pissed a lot of them off and they just want him gone.

I would personally like to see both parties just part ways now. There is no gain for either and Bennett can go home to his family whilst Stone gets to work with the team for a few stress free rounds. Bennett doesn't want to be here so release him.
If the Brennan thing is true it at least gives Stone some time to coach First again so he can build his CV up more for another FG gig somewhere else.

Parting ways with Bennett now would be stupid. I know I said it before but it was an emotional week and I was upset at his timing with the Alex Round. There is no gain from sending him packing now. The season is over. It was weeks ago. I notice Boyd never cops a spray from Supercoqch but he has named plenty of others like Aku and Mullo in dispatches. He can go back to Brisbane and St George fans can rest easy knowing that Mary McGregor is a. far better option. Imagine how awesome it will feel if we beat Brisbane next season and Stoney or Brennan can know that we put one over a man who really has been an epic failure here.
