^ well, we all knew it was money related at the end of the day didn't we? He would have won more admirers from the decision by being up front about it. He has disabled children and he was offered a lot less than what he signed up for under Tinkler. He should have just said that...not blamed the players...

Couldnt agree more. He's lost me over that one.

He also has the best spine the game has ever seen as his disposal and for a long time had a side significantly over the cap.

I'm questionable about Bellamy's coaching ability and I'm also not sure what legacy he's going to leave with the wrestling, chicken wing, grapple, etc.

Hence why I said the 2012 title. After The cap rort and his side were dismantled. You cannot tell me with the Nuffies he has turned into legit first graders that he is not a world class coach. Their forward pack the last three years was made up of total nobodies until he got hold of them. The fact that Storm players leave their club and are never the same players tells you just how good he is at getting the best out of moderately talented players.

And as for the origin argument Daley, Stuart and he are all in the same boat. All coached and lost during that incredible streak. I believe Bellamy intentionally coached NSW a different way to Melbourne so as his secrets would not be unearthed. It was dead obvious the way they defended. Why would he show how to stop his spine. The same spine that beat us. He is not an idiot. He was more fundamentals first at origin level.

You just described the Knights squad during the Hagan years to a tee. A couple of really classy and dominant players (like the Storm spine) surrounded by some total nuffies. You have to wonder how much impact Bellamy had on them and how much was a result of Slater/Cronk/Smith. If Johns could make a statue look good like a lot of people say, then surely the Storm's spine could do the same for some decent fringe first graders.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Bellamy wants to retire around the time Smith, Slater and Cronk will either...

Totally agree, the Storm simply hit the jackpot in a similar way that we did with Johns. All their stars aligned perfectly - not totally by accident of course... good recruitment and retention. Incredible recruitment actually, given that 2 or 3 players that will be remembered as the players of their era were all there simultaneously. Then they cheated to keep said stars aligned. We'll never really know how good Bellamy is or not if he retires with the rest of his little merry band down there.

All fair points. Maybe he and Wayne are driven by legacy and I guess that is fair enough. I can't argue against the fact Bellamy should have stepped out of his comfort zone to truly show how good he is. Anyway I rate him highly. He redefined the game even if it was controversial with the wrestling. I feel what drove Bellamy was to better Bennett. They aren't exactly fond of each other it is said and it is rumoured it is cos Belly was promised the Broncs gig and Bennett stayed on. I reckon it is because Bellamy had the talent to better him and he knew it.

Bellamy doesn't like Bennett because he's been publicly criticising the tactics he's introduced for years.

I get what you mean about him redefining the game...I don't think you'll find many people that think it was for the better though. The allowance of those tactics is the worst thing that's ever happened to the attack and entertainment of the game.

thats increadible...

This is the first, and probably last, time ive ever found gossip interesting.

It would explain his comment that the players hadnt come up to the high standards he had set for himself and it would go part of the way as to why we have been so shit this year, the boys have some personal off field issues. I know we had some key players missing at the start of the year but every club has to endure that at various stages.

Yes the injury to Alex would of rocked them but wow we have severely under performed and there has to be more to it. Run your eye over our line up. On their day they could match it with the best of them and we are what ? second last ?

I reckon that the Titans review is cover to punt Carty and install Bennett.

It would work for both Bennett and Boyd.

Any chance we can encourage Bird to come home................

Hell yes it is, these kinds of reviews are almost unheard of at this time of the year. Theyre reserved for seasons end. I wonder if they can come up with the cash ? lets hope the old bloke goes there and is a dismal failure. Disloyal a$$hole....

If Wayne goes to any club I'd prefer it was the Titans. They're currently a joke of a club with no personality. I know we're dirty on Bennett but it would be good for the game if he rejuvenated the Titans. A Boyd for Mead swap would be fine by me as well.

^ yeah, I'd almost forgive him for the way he left if he went to the tits. Not only for the good of the game but it would ensure epic lols because most Dragons fans are so sure it's locked in (a dragons supporter I work with actually asked me a few days ago how early you can buy tickets for next year's GF Hahahaha).

Personally though I still think he'll go to whoever offers the most money which will be the Dragons or Brisbane.

Annesley came out yesterday saying that Bennett was not in the Titans future plans

If anything, I think they will punt Carty and promote Henry to the top job. They dont have the funds to pay Bennett

Who cares anymore. Bring the next bloke in and send Boyd bye byes. If the club wanted to make a statement they would sack Bennett today and makes sure the Rise For Alex round was free of both of them. Show we do not take crap from Queenslanders more interested in legacy than helping a club. The timing by Bennett has been appalling.
