if you don't think melbourne & the rest of the NRL clubs haven't had several session on how to tackle taking into account the "softcock tackling laws" then you lot are clueless

i'll offer short odds that a leeds player gets sin binned

He said that nobody does shoulder charge training, not that nobody does tackling training. There is a difference.

You don't have to tell us that the banning of the shoulder charge sucks, we know and agree.

BTW if they are going under the NRL rules with a NRL ref then Leeds will probably be able to get away with more stuff in their tackles, provided that they don't spear tackle, high tackle or shoulder charge. IMO the NRL refs are more lenient when it comes to wrestling then the ESL refs are.

TBF there's only Kylie Leuluai and Ryan Bailey who regularly try the shoulder charge and one of those isnt playing. I doubt it'll have an affect at all.

lol teams dont train for shoulder charges you muppet

And people wonder why poms have a rep for whinging sheesh

We have a rep of whinging because Aussies keep saying it, usually after a really good whinge of there own.

For example

"Its to cold" "Its only a trial" "they won't play it in Aus" "Whinging poms".

That kind of thing. :D

Its not so much the training. It is more like the natural way you play.

Leeds have played three times where they can shoulder charge, and there may be a point in the game where a player just does what he has done all season without thinking about it.
The NRL players really should have a mindset that they cannot do it or else they will be in trouble when the season starts.

But as Harrigan says, very few Leeds players actually do it, so it won't be to bad.

In fact very few of the good young players coming through are known for big shoulder charges. They are actually taught how to tackle nowadays. Progress. :)

I'll be talking to some NRL players this week I'll ask them how many sessions they have spent on the shoulder charge. And I'll take a blank or puzzled look to mean NONE.

What kind of f**king mong thinks NRL clubs seriously spend any time whatsoever practicing how to NOT shoulder charge? If they do George Rose must have missed all the sessions at Manly.

And I am willing to bet someone gets binned too, because it's a super league ref and they bin players left right and centre for practically anything. But I bet if any side cops it more it will be Melbourne. Who said a shoulder charge was an automatic sin binning anyway? Some people watch too much union (or just make shit up).

TBF though Spud, doesn't every opposing fan in SL accuse Sinfield of refereeing games in the league? It doesn't bother me. I saw a couple of things in their training session that made me a bit more confident too last night. Fax were having a lot of joy down the Storms right edge and made a few breaks. They were getting caught out with the inside pass on a regular basis too. Melbourne did look very good with the ball though and the amount of runners they have on every play is crazy. Cronk was looking sharp too. I think he will have a massive game Friday.

Anyone surprised the Storm are starting at favourites? Tatts has Storm $1.53 and Leeds $2.50

true...but at least in super league both teams are used to playing by the same rules...

tbh id rather not dwell on it cos i really don't want it to be a issue....but it will be if a leeds player gets sin binned...and i really don't want the game to be decided because of a stupid effing law...

rubbish.

Thats an even more pathetic excuse than the weather.

So its too far for them to travel, they can't play in the cold or wet, they are incapable of preparing for a game of rugby and they don't want to win it anyway.

They are the champs of the nrl.

Just how bad are the rest of the teams?
