Answer me this, is Monaghan eligible for the halfback of the year award?
Bazal said:How many times has Orford, a guy with hundreds of games under his belt, won his side a final or even taken control? There's a reason he hasn't played Origin...
Bazal said:As for your last comment, did you even read what I said FFS? The top 4 sides in the NRL at the moment are Melbourne, Manly, NQLD and NZ...does that mean that the latter two are automatically as good as the first two? Of course it f**king doesn't. No different really

Tim is a good halfback in a good team
all halfbacks suffer in teams that don't have a strong forward pack but Timmy seems to suffer a lot more then others

I don't necessarily hold that view now, but I was just curious to know if I am a soothsayer.

Are we forgetting that Tim Smith is a young halfback who's made the big grades on the back of a superb debut season?
By the way, we looked mighty good in 2005, and guess who our halfback was?
Not saying Tim is our messiah, but I believe our biggest issue is our forward pack.

Same amount as the best in the game currently...Idiot...
No but it does mean that they are close....Massive difference really...Three and Four have a chance to be as good or better than One or Two this season....

Ben Smith is a well documented loser

3 props and 2 backrowers replaced with

Eelementary said:That in itself is a bit of a problem.
I believe Mateo is filling Widders' creative lock role, and Cordoba is filling Vella's role. Ian Hindmarsh is being used as a defensive prop/second-rower, so I guess he replaced Peek. But then who repalced Stringer, a consistent metre-gaining forward?
Morrison and Stringer are the types of players we're missing - one was a defensive back-rower who could also make metres with the ball, and the other was a metre-eating prop.
And it's little surprise that we were doing quite well when we had a 17-man team consisting of 4 props (2 starters and 2 benchies) and 2 starting defensive back-rowers (the Hindy brothers) with an attacking lock (Mateo). We had a balance.
Recently, though, we've been focusing too much on mobility and defence, and as a result, our attack has struggled. It's obvious to see that the majority of the blame has been shifted onto our halves' shoulders.
