It may be difficult but are the Stadium Trust really going to shut the door and make it truly difficult? Who else, outside of a soccer game every now and again plus a concert around New Years, is going to use it?

Which is exactly why we really should have a deal in our favour, not one that seems to hold us to ransom.

so how many games last year where a "fear of a sellout"?

2 at max I say

about 3 or 4, then go back a few years and add them up, we have alot of money keeping the fans out.

about 3 or 4 i reckon - thats 4 chances we could've generated significantly higher then usual crowds - why not have it? it is inevitable that the stadium needs to be increased, why not now? how many professional sporting clubs in the world go to smaller stadiums? not many..if any.

We need to be maxing out five or six games a season at the very least to get a serious upgrade to the stadium or at the very least get the state or federal givernment to put up the cash.

It isn't about suggesting we do or don't need it. It is about having the demand exceed supply on a regular basis.....

why not increase it just in case? 4 times last year... and in the years gone past many have been keep out because of the small cappacity.

In 2005 i reckon 5 or 6 times we could've had more then 25+ crowds - the fear of a sell-out drove people away including me.

No one will turn up in fear of getting turned away.

and we're forgetting the fact that building a larger stadium could attract other eventsd

20,000 seat stadium in Sydneys second CBD, together with a huge growth area in Australia is just pathetic - we have a stadium on Par with Jubilee oval and Leichardt lol

Disgusting, i guess the same people that dont wanna increase are the same Fitzy groupies...

i never said they would do that but you said when they go into a form slump and get 8000 crowds regularly; not with injuries, not maybe, not what if, when hence the eyeroll i think that claim is based on your wishful thinking more than anything else

p.s. while you've got your crystal ball out can i have next week's lotto numbers?

It's part of football, EVERY team has form fluctuates, I dont need to give reasoning why, I thought that was pretty obvious.

Why would the "claim" :)lol:) be wishful thinking.

I can tell you the lotto numbers will be between 1 and 48, the same way I can tell you the Eels will have a form slump some time in the furture.

the fear of a sellout drove you away?

FFS just pre buy a ticket.

what if it were spur of the moment decision...much like 50% of crowd attendants i say?

you would know as well as me that Parramatta has a huge amount of walk up supporters to the game.

do i need to go on?

Fish were you happy with the previous stadium capacity? oh that's right, you'd rather the government spend the money on something more worthwhile huh? like the piss cakes in the parramatta CBD public toilets...which probably equal the cost of a stadium upgrade lol

so which games scared you away Ron, looks to me you would have easily got a seat at 8 of those games if you wanted to come along.

Where is the money going to come from to fund the extra seats.
The leagues is talking of possibly having to scale back funds to the NRL side, the NSW gov. has their hands full, and the feds aren't even keeping their promises from the last election?

I'll call bullsh*t on that figure you've plucked from nowhere.

In any case, for big matches you pre book.

Doesnt matter whether it's for a regular season home and away or a state of origin. If you want to go, you buy a ticket.

Fish were you happy with the previous stadium capacity?

The 27,000?

Yep. That seemed pretty good.

See, now you're just making sh*t up.

It's actually quite important that Governments spend money on sporting infrastructure because it's in the public good.

I wouldnt be upset if either the state or federal government announced funding tomorrow to increase the stadium capacity, so you need to have that discussion with someone who doesnt want the government to spend money on football stadiums.

Fact is though, there are a heap of pressures on both state and federal government budgets and conflicting priorities, for example, why upgrade Parramatta Stadium to 40,000 ( a figure people have used in here), when there is no evidence that figure would be reached on a regular basis and two, there is a stadium a stones throw away that has that capacity, and that the club has shown a willingness to play in?

We need Parramatta to become a marginal seat before we get an upgrade IMO

If in the next 2 3 years our consistency is that of a team like the Storm then i dont see why we can't get additonal funds to increase the capacity. I wouldnt build it for more than a capacity of 30k though.

If they make the pool car park into a multi story car park, they can set up an outdoor giant screen across the road which they use for parking atm.

That way, people wont fear missing out. They can set it up for games that will nearly sell out, then all the walk ups who miss out can go there to watch it.
