I know he had a very poor game but we need Waqa Blake in the side to be a chance of doing anything in this finals series. Anyone who wants him replaced with Simonsson should be careful what they wish for.

Yes well wasn't it Brad who thought signing Simmonson for 3 years was a great idea
Thats how dumb our head coach is

Hearsay Your Honour.

I would love to know your source for this statement.
Who on the Board or in Club management do you speak to who has said that or possibly even thinks that?
Some of the people I have spoken to in the club are rightly pissed that we don't have another suitable back up half in the top 30. MON and BA both responsible for that. Was hope that one of the younger ones could have developed quicker and that they could have convinced Rankin to join top 30 but neither happen.
Who was the fast little halfback that we had for a season and ended up going to the UK? He was the best backup we have had in years at 7.

Now we have no genuine back up half, and our genuine back up hooker gets overlooked for some kid. I forgot his name.

Here’s a question that needs answering

6 NRL players are leaving at the end of this season, and we as a club have known for some time. Recruitment could even be seen as an afterthought, a banged up veteran hooker, 2 reserve grade forwards who couldn’t make their current sides and that’s it so far.

as MON said previously, don’t worry players are ringing me constantly to come to the club, hello , who’s left out there to add and bring value.

We are supposedly a big club, yet we act like we are worse than most clubs, good administrators don’t hesitate and sign good players almost immediately, hate to mention the Roosters and others . Let’s hope we are surprised, but with season tickets to go on sale, where is the improvement in the roster for next year. The failure to add an experienced half was blindingly terrible and it has cost.

18/19 year olds need physical attributes to succeed and when an inexperienced , still raw physically half seems to have played more games at his age than Jarryd Hayne did, well that tells us something.

Maybe not but it's not hurting either. It's one reserve grader or another in those two spots. If we only need six minutes from Makatoa I don't see how another forward will help. Or do you think he only played six minutes because that's all he's capable of?

MerkinMinutes
Matterson68
Paulo59 (in three stints, so he is getting plenty of rest)
Campbell-Gillard49
Niukore45
Kaufusi35
Makatoa6

Who exactly was so overworked that more minutes from a reserve grader would've helped us? Yeo played 80 for Penrith and JFH played 54; more than most of our guys.

Paulo's second stint is actually either side of the halftime break so he gets three rest periods (including halftime) breaking up four blocks of play.
You need to factor in that both Paulo and RCG came off for the last 10 minutes, so they would've had to play 69 and 59 had the game still be a contest.

No one will ever convince me that these two playing that many minutes is beneficial. 50-55 max.

The plan has been proven to suit our team. If it's not working the problem is the execution. Last night the specific execution problem was catching uncontested kicks.
This was always going to happen at some point with Waqa Blake. It was a matter of when, not if. I'm surprised it took this long. I guess teams were waiting to exploit it for the Finals.

Man I been busy.

The amount of trannies I sucked off in the last 48hrs. Me belly's full I tell ya.

Anyhows before I go. Ask yourself this.

Who predicted Canberra would win out?

Who predicted Parra would win out?

Who predicted Penrith would crush us?

Who said Waqa isn't a winger and is hopeless under the high ball and will be exposed?

Footy is a simple game. Sides like ours can beat weak sides.
Come finals it's a new ball game. It becomes a game of intense pressure.
The contenders vs the pretenders. Your smart well drilled sides will not have shown all their cards during the season. They will then set a game plan which will be to combat the oppositions strengths and target their weaknesses.
As a football side we are playing to our strengths 💪 Pou is correct here 100% and why we need luck to win.
But the smart coaches they know our strengths and weaknesses. They nullify our strengths and go after our weaknesses. That's when we are basicaly f**ked. All we have left is LUCK. And we just wait for it. It's also the reason we are 0/7 to get to that week 3.
Yes we can win. If opposition play poor and we get all the luck.

A side like Panthers has no real weakness. This becomes a problem. Nothing to target. So you can do two things. Play to your strengths, stay in the game and hope they play poor and you get some luck or you can combat it and play some footy and use shock tactics. The unexpected. Difference is you may get blown out of water.
That's footy but and sport. This is how underdogs win games. They increase the risks against the better sides and rather then die a slow death you have a crack. Think Tigers 2005.
No guts no glory.

Storm are a different beast. They have weaknesses we can target but also a smarter coach then Penrith
Bellamy's seen to much now of us. Don't be suprised if we fail to score a try next week . Especialy if we go into our shell like last night and play the 5 step shuffle. God dam embarrasing what we dished out. 5 hit ups and kick in finals. f**king he'll.
And his choice of Makatoa and JA on the bench is lunacy.
Shock tactics last night? Start Bryce and N.Brown. Of course they where going to take LANE out of the game. Bring Matto, Lane,Kafusi,Marata off bench once forwards tired. Not saying it works but it's shock tactics. And if it was close after 25 still imagine the fire-power you inject. All Penrith did was threw Kenny on to handle the onslaught. Said guys hold tight for 50mins till the big boys are gassed then we crush them in the next 15-20 mins. Bar the crash play we didn't look like scoring. And our bombs in attack most time ended with them with te ball 20-30 out due to a sbit house chase.

Anyhows I better get back to it. Still got a line up of trannys to get through as long as the apologists on here.

Apologists Esembele
