Then we need to have ALL finals at Accor and do away with home finals.
Why should say Cronulla have to ay a ho.e final against East's at Allianz, or Penrith play a home final against Parramatta at Commbank.
Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle, GC, Cowboys should all play home finals at Accor as well.
How is it fair to everyone unless this is the system.
I don't agree with Cronulla playing at Pointsbet, but if you have a 20k+ stadium you deserve to play at home!

Should be 20k seated. No hills.

But don't play it at the opposition's home ground!
Given that the Sharks played home matches at Kogarah last year, Kogarah is only about 12km drive from Shark Park and has a capacity of nearly 20k, I'd much prefer the match played at Kogarah (vs a low-drawing interstate side such as the Cowboys) if Allianz Stadium was never going to be considered as an option by the NRL (especially if there were concerns over too many empty seats at Allianz or struggling to get 50% capacity).

What you're proposing makes no sense.

Broncos can pull 50k at Lang Park. Cowboys 25k at North Queensland Stadium. Melbourne 20k at Melbourne Rectangular Arena. Newcastle 25k at Marathon. Raiders 20k at Bruce. They're not going to get that at Stadium Australia because it's not within driving distance for their fans. Plus they have the burden of having to travel much further than the Sydney clubs during the regular season. It would be criminal to rig everything so the Sydney teams don't need to board a plane during the finals after the easy run they get during the season.

The problem that no one is willing to address is the Sharks have historically struggled to draw much more than 15k to 18k to the SFS and Endeavour during week one of the finals because they don't have enough active fans. There's just 220k people in Sutherland and that's all the Sharks can hope to represent because they refuse to broaden their brand to encompass more than their LGA. Attracting active support from 10% of their LGA would equate to 22k fans, which is fanciful given no other club has that sort of following within their catchment. Good luck getting 10% or more of Sutherland to get on board when the club emphasises just one small suburb in their club song. "Up up Cronulla" isn't a ringing endorsement for the rest of Sutherland.

Does any other sports club identify themselves as their suburb first and LGA second?

It would be dumb if the Broncos were the Red Hill-Brisbane Broncos. Or if the Titans were the Robina-Gold Coast Titans. The only team I can think of that did something similar was Burleigh when they called themselves Gold Coast-Burleigh Bears during their debut season in the Queensland Cup in 1997, but they had enough sense to at least put their city ahead of their suburb.

Last but not least, Endeavour shouldn't hold finals games because it is a poorly constructed ground with subpar amenities. It's not fit for regular season NRL games and is a black eye on the game.

Suburban grounds are fine for home and away, but potentially locking out 40,000 fans from the Penrith v Parra game is peak NRL. Given the tickets go on sale to both sets of members at the same time I'll be keen to see the division of the crowd. Obviously more Penrith fans, but there will be quite a few that will miss out methinks. Maybe they will side with those that want it to be at Homebush after they miss out on tickets.

Cronulla is just a dilapidated shithole and a brand new stadium is 27km up the road. If the Redcliffe Dolphins have a week 1 finals game next year I would expect that it is moved to Suncorp.

Doesn't revenue from finals games go to the NRL?

V'landys is willing to sacrifice revenue that will benefit all clubs and grassroots just to appease a few hillbillies who prefer to watch the game at a dilapidated shithole in the burbs. Our game is run by a moron.

f**k that. Redcliffe Stadium shits on Suncorp. Went to both this year and Love having a leagues club adjoined to the ground, feel close to the action, food better priced….

Redcliffe Stadium reminds me of Shark Park and I f**king love it.

Yes the NRL owns the finals series.

The leagues club is a great time, and MDS is a good little joint, provided it isn't raining. I didn't argue that some might enjoy the experience more of a suburban ground - go for your life during the regular season. My point is that the NRL should be earning as much money as possible from the finals series.

Aren't PVL and co trying to bring in international interest? Imagine switching the tele on and seeing Bluebet or Pointsbet for the two biggest games of the weekend (ladder wise) - what is next, Raelene Castle to represent Australia at Miss World 2022?
