Then we need to have ALL finals at Accor and do away with home finals.
Why should say Cronulla have to ay a ho.e final against East's at Allianz, or Penrith play a home final against Parramatta at Commbank.
Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle, GC, Cowboys should all play home finals at Accor as well.
How is it fair to everyone unless this is the system.
I don't agree with Cronulla playing at Pointsbet, but if you have a 20k+ stadium you deserve to play at home!
What you're proposing makes no sense.
Broncos can pull 50k at Lang Park. Cowboys 25k at North Queensland Stadium. Melbourne 20k at Melbourne Rectangular Arena. Newcastle 25k at Marathon. Raiders 20k at Bruce. They're not going to get that at Stadium Australia because it's not within driving distance for their fans. Plus they have the burden of having to travel much further than the Sydney clubs during the regular season. It would be criminal to rig everything so the Sydney teams don't need to board a plane during the finals after the easy run they get during the season.
The problem that no one is willing to address is the Sharks have historically struggled to draw much more than 15k to 18k to the SFS and Endeavour during week one of the finals because they don't have enough active fans. There's just 220k people in Sutherland and that's all the Sharks can hope to represent because they refuse to broaden their brand to encompass more than their LGA. Attracting active support from 10% of their LGA would equate to 22k fans, which is fanciful given no other club has that sort of following within their catchment. Good luck getting 10% or more of Sutherland to get on board when the club emphasises just one small suburb in their club song. "Up up Cronulla" isn't a ringing endorsement for the rest of Sutherland.
Does any other sports club identify themselves as their suburb first and LGA second?
It would be dumb if the Broncos were the Red Hill-Brisbane Broncos. Or if the Titans were the Robina-Gold Coast Titans. The only team I can think of that did something similar was Burleigh when they called themselves Gold Coast-Burleigh Bears during their debut season in the Queensland Cup in 1997, but they had enough sense to at least put their city ahead of their suburb.
Last but not least, Endeavour shouldn't hold finals games because it is a poorly constructed ground with subpar amenities. It's not fit for regular season NRL games and is a black eye on the game.
