Lots of sporting teams change names particularly when they want to represent larger areas
Correct, i also feel "Sunshine State Dolphins" is the right name, we don't want South Qld Crushers v2.0, and northern or north Brisbane Dolphins, suggesting that there is a south Brisbane Broncos or something to that effect, Redcliffe is again too small, and although im happy for the use of "Moreton Bay" as its a LGA they'll be based in, its the same as naming them Redcliffe in that if home stadium is Suncorp, then a name befitting ALL of Brisbane- Moreton- Sunshine Coast is needed, "SEQ Dolphins" works, but not really easy to spit out... "Sunshine State" for me, it reminds me of the Golden State Warriors in the US.

Great example. Golden State came about because team represented twin cities Oakland & San Francisco. Kinda like North Brisbane & Sunshine Coast

Its so RL to base expansion decisions on removing the most popular club off fta to appease a tv corp who want to drive people to subscribe to its channel in that city lol

I suppose we should be thankful for small mercies but Vlandys mates got just what they wanted and now FTA carries all the risk. If the new club is more Titans than Storm then FTA loses out big time in this deal.
Any chance of the new team receiving a few leg-ups on the player market to make them the strongest team in Queensland?

The game up here needs it.

If I was PVL I would go to Ch9 and ask for more funding to make this team a powerhouse. It's in their best interest to have this team competitive and making finals from the start as they'll be screening fewer Donkeys games.

I'd imagine the other clubs would be against it.

South Queensland Dolphins.

On the official logo (e.g not the player apparel one, which I predict will follow the current trend of just having the mascot and no text) they could have 'RDRLFC 1947' in finer print below the 'South Queensland Dolphins' text

North Brisbane would only work if the Broncos were on the south of the river. You basically have two north Brisbane teams
it’s been shown broncos draw fans from all over the city, they aren’t a northern club.
