Could be good in the long term for 'The'.

Give time to grow a proper spine. That was the problem with Titans, had marquee signings (Mat Rogers, Scott Prince etc) but had a quick downfall afterwards. They literally went from the prelims in 2010 to the spoon in 2011.
The failure of the centre of excellence probably is what really Undid the titans

and then signing Hayne

I’ve heard stories they used to get the tackle bags at training and throw them over the fence and Henry had little control

If you are going to increase the salary cap and I don’t have a problem with that but you need something else with the salary cap to even out the competition.
The salary cap isn't meant to even out the talent... its to make sure you dont over extend your means and go broke.... unfortunately certain clubs want to push those boundaries and keep all the stars for themselves...
I have no problem with the salary cap, its the third parties added ontop that entise certain players to stay, or go to certain clubs with other top tier talent, rather than chase the pay elsewhere, thus the evening out of top end talent suffers... if you look at the nrlw its working... but nrl with 17 teams and historical fudging goings on has fkd things up...
Good on Munster for staying, but knowing tigers or phins would have given him a third more for his contract sets a standard across the whole league, saying we dont believe you can deliver us finals footy on a regular basis, so really whats the point of increasing the cap? I get that players only have a decade of good footy in them so going to certian clubs or staying there helps their career, but for the good of game as a whole, need more guys who are willing to take a punt on the cellar dwellars... cowboys this year were a great example of townsend among others coming from the bottom 4 and pushing into the top tier

That would explain why they leaked so many points.

yep, typical dumb NRL.
Should have given them
A) more time to get ready
B) $2mill salary cap concessions to sign from outside of NRL
you reap what you sow
They should have been directly involved in sourcing them a marque signing or two as well.

As soon as it became clear that Reece Walsh was leaving the Warriors with the intention of staying in SEQ they should have done everything in their power to make sure he ended up at Redcliffe.

If that's enough to shine a searchlight into Melbourne then a whole search party needs to be sent into Penrith...
Not sure why on Penrith, we lost burton in 22, Kikau and Api in 23, might lose more, cant say we have a monopoly on top tier talent

Anybody who has followed a club that has, or has had, a heavy focus on junior development knows that either Penrith has found a way to totally break the system, or something very dodgy is going on...

It doesn't matter which example you want to use, if the generation of juniors Penrith have had come through had come through at any of the other clubs, then the majority of the local juniors in your premiership winning sides would have been spread around the league, playing for the usual suspects, long before they could have even debuted for the Panthers in the NRL.

To pretend otherwise is just your bias talking.

Not really bias... just more focused on my own team, rather than the media beef ups of who is worth what on the open market... back in the 90s nearly half the clubs had incredible rosters, most stemming from their own local talent.. no different in panthers right now... if every club could focus on keeping their cup sides together as much as possible, you'd see more side contend with the panthers... cows, sharks and rabbits are doing it, i dont see too many issues with it, like i said there's a few every year that are leaving penrith on good coin to play elsewhere, and a junior comes in to take their place... tago and may are good examples

This claims it was 1.4 mill a season the dolphins offered him and he’s let go 1.6 mill in extra wages to stay loyal
Fancy turning your back on 1.6 extra million dollars to headine the current storm roster, they were busted, probably will be worse next year due to missing 4 of their experienced forward pack, who mind you might be on their last few years, but atleast they know the plays and standards at the storm

Fear of the unknown really. That’s why it is hard for a club with no history in the NRL to sign players

His agent works for Fox sports you bellend
haha so his agent is going to leak his contract details to the media? Yeh thats a good way to keep players on your listings. If you think Munster has turned down $1.6mill to stay at Storm then your as naïve as news ltd media followers.
