What young players are you actually talking about? Their full strength starting 17 have all played first grade and a lot of them aren’t particularly young

Those 4 from Penrith are very good
Bostick from Dragons same too

Their squad is a good mix, Older guys will keep them competitive until the young guys develop

They have a killer pack

spine and outside backs are meh but if all you can do in rugby league is defend you will be mid table

Milford has always played well for bennett and O’Sullivan looked good albeit in a strong past there side.

yep, Titans had marquees when they came in, didn't do them much good after the first few seasons....

GWS has been given every leg up imaginable to build a squad and successful club and they're as irrelevant as ever.
Took GWS about 5 years to become a top 8 side.
Titans never built on that first good squad they had sadly. Started weakly, got much better, dropped right off
12th
13th
3rd
4th
15th - never got good again!

I dont think there's any magic bullet when it comes to expansion on the field but I would like to have seen them get some decent cap concessions to raid RU and look at bringing some SL players over to help out to reduce the signing of 90% of players from existing NRL club rosters.
They said they wouldn't weaken the comp when they came in but in reality they have, at least initially.

Looking at the side its looking like a Bennett grinding team for a while to come. Wont win over many fans you'd think?

Why the blazes are you continually bringing fumbleball into the conversation. As a League fan I couldn`t tell you one thing about gws ( and have absolutely no interest ) but it appears for someone who claims to be League fan you are obsessed with them and know an awful lot.

Because he is a true AFL fan, hence why he always complains

I watched parts of the finals games involving the Lions, but other than that I don't know shit about AwFuL.

I remember walking around parramatta the day they played in the grand final. I remembered seeing they’d qualified the week before, however on the day of the game I completely forgot it was on. No jerseys, no shops decorated and no bandwagons. Comparing to even a Wanderers game day is night and day.

The giants aren’t an outer western team

they spurned the outer western Sydney because the players actually hated the area

They can throw another billion at it and they will do nothing

homebush is swans territory

Blacktown was a great location for a new club and luckily for us they gave that up

you can’t just put a team in homebush and think it’s represents outer Sydney no matter how many billions they throw at it

people say afl has good leaders but literally they have no clue about Sydney and no plan to make the club work other than throwing more and more money at it and giving them priority draft picks

We're heading off-topic in regards to logos, jerseys, ect, here, but I suppose there might potentially have been issues if they had chosen not to be the Dolphins. Gold Coast, in their proposal in 2005 or 2006, were going to be the Dolphins but were told they couldn't have that name due to Redcliffe having NRL aspirations in years to come. If, all of a sudden, Redcliffe's NRL bid was to become 'Redcliffe *somethings*' (or 'The *somethings*'), then Gold Coast could have had that name 15yrs ago afterall.

Probably thinking Manly and Cronulla. Promoted clubs in small enclaves. The litmus tests for THE Dolphins will be their crowds at Suncorp against clubs with little support in Brisbane. 18k plus crowds there and the negativity is ill founded. 20k members to start.
Anything less and I think we can agree its not the best decision ever made.
So far the theory that there are lots of sponsors in Qlnd waiting for another club has proven to be correct so thats a big positive. Now we will have to see if the 'lots of fans waiting for an alternative to Broncos' is true.
Dolphins didn't do that, and has fk all to do with them... nor has manly being entered in 1947 differ to penrith entering in 1967 or any other expansion some 70plus years ago meant that the current NRL has fkd up in some way... having another qld team is good for the nrl, thats all that matters... dolphins is a better brand then the rival bids, and has history in the area... in a generation or two, theyll grow like roosters have in sydney (not just being bondi)
Or dragons have not just being kogarah, all the angst will be from bygone supporters of the lower grades
