I dont know ... Ando is a stubborn bugger !!!
It all depends who we sign.
If we sign BK or Orford - Morts plays 6
if we sign Barrett - Morts plays 7

Dont be surprised however if Ando plays Morts at 7 and Kimmorley/Orford at 6 ! ... just to prove a point !!

God is a stubborn bugger too, think of all the psychopaths running amok generation after generation, culling the population in the many millions.
Where is God???? Where is Daniel Anderson??? Where is the intervention???

Oh hear he comes from on high.... its Robson....... to save the day.

But then, there are a few loose canons amongst us here on this forum too..........:lol::lol:

AND another thing - do we have to continually go over this ...
Ando has said that Morts will stay in the No 7. End of Story.
It wont change.

If he`s really as stubborn as that, then that is the hallmark of a pretty f**ked coach. Next, please.......

am hoping if it is anyone out of the people being bandied about that it is Kimmorley
and if DA is seriosu as a coach, you would play Kimmorley and Robson together and Morts might have to play 9 or 14....

but then again, things and form change with time, we'll see i guess

The reason for acquiring Kimmorley would be to teach your young half that you have invested in, the art of playing halfback. With Robson it would be a case of 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks.'

PS

Anderson knows what he is doing.

Another great performance by Robson. His kicking in the first half was first rate and he did his job which is to give the ball to our centres and wide running forwards. It is not a coincidence that we are firing because our best half is back where he belongs.

Again well done, Robbo!!

I still hold the line that

KK hogs it and wants to go himself most times than not
Mortz doesn't have a long passing game and always goes short. If the outside defenders gets in his face early, he dies with the ball.

Robbo gets the ball to the players who should have it. That's his strength.

I was very pleased with his kicking too. He seems to have worked out how to find open space.

Well Done !

Lets not forget how both Robson and Mortimer at the play the ball were also straitening up and running at the forwards defensive line trying to bust the line or create quick play the balls. This opened up lots of space for Hayne to perform his magic in the 1st half. Robson and Mortimer were pulling in the Dogs pack and Patton was forced to come closer in to the line of attack created by Robson & Mortimer. Great tactics DA and great execution boys.

As far as I am concerned Robson and Mortimer can be the Eels 7 and 6 for 2011 too. They are both getting better, even starting to play better than last year. If they keep improving or at least play as well as they did tonight they are going to create nightmares for the Roosters.

KKs only asset is to dummy to the right and step back inside hoping to cut the line, either that or a kick out of dummy half. Should just make him a winger or centre.
I think Mortimers starting to develop something reminiscent of a long passing game. That set up to Benny, i'm guessing took about half the season to learn.

And I keep saying Robbo is the one person who has played consistently in the halves yet he's the one who is going to get punted and they keep Morts in there.

Robbo>Morts IMO.

It was a great game by Robbo. No coincidence that we are playing the way we are with the combination we are using. Everyone may not like it, but, this is as good as we've got and it has taken us to a Grand Final, so we have to accept that for the moment this is the way to go.

Robbo > Morts at 7 definitely.

I hate how we get a good roll on in the first half of the game with Robson, then try and give Morts time at 7 once we've got the game in the bag, and things end up being pedestrian and we don't go on with what we've built.

Bite the bullet DA, and give Morts the 6 shirt, instead of pretending he can still become a 7 by naming him in that shirt each week.

Naming him in the 7 is a mental thing I think, give him some confidence for when we play well.

I did notice this too Bartman...he was playing more as a 7 in the second half and Robson and Hayne took a backseat. The pass he gave to Ben Smith for his try should give him some confidence but we and Anderson knows that Hayne and Robson are the playmakers for the time being, I think Anderson, again, is thinking about the long term as well. Fortuneatly it didn't come back to bite us, but could have had some circumstances been slightly different. Morts will be better after another good off-season, until then, let's play to our strengths and do what we did in the first half.

Robbo was great and so was Morts. Morts's money ball to Ben was sweet.

Based on last nights game, we should be spending our spare cash on a gun hooker if we don't snare Cronk.

Hayne singled out Robson after the game as a reason for why our play has improved. Might be a gentle message back at DA as to who he thinks is the best half on the team.

Hooker should be our priority ahead of cronk. There is a chance to get smith which will never occur again. Why we would pay 600 for cronk when smith is just as available is a mystery.

Ennis would improve our club more than cronk. If we had him last night we probably win it by 30.

And smith is a whe class above. He is a guy that qld origin and storm have built a dynasty around.

The game would be so much easier for whoever played half if smith was at 9
