does NYC have a bye this week as well?

If so, would have been good to see williams and mannah get another run.

Thats what i can not understand why not give KK mannah williams a run with the older guys? Coaching staff

Wentworthville Win the Clash of the Magpies.

Wentworthville have triumphed over the Western Suburbs Magpies at Concord Oval today 32 to 28, in a tough and some times tense encounter.

Kris Inu was involved in the first 2 plays of the game firstly kicking off the the Wests Winger who Knocked on in goal, and then receiving the ball from the following the short line drop out and running a few metres before being meet in a strong tackle by Wests. Wentworthville then maintained the pressure on Western Suburbs to score the first try with Inu once again involved, standing in a tackle to offload back to James Maloney who raced around to score under the sticks, James Converted his own try and at the 7th minute it was Wentworthville 6 - 0 leaders over the Western Suburbs Team.

West Struck back 6 minutes later with a Well worked try seeing Beau Ryan crash over in the North Eastern Corner of Concord Oval for the try which Fullback Shannon Gallant converted.

Wentworthville replied in the 22nd minute with a try to Broderick Wright after a barnstorming run 2 metres out from the Line, Maloney Converted for a 12 - 6 lead to Wentworthville.

Wentworthville continued to put on the pressure and it resulted in a great try to Wentworthville, scored by Iwi Hauraki after strong lead up play by Mark O'Grady and Krisnan Inu.

Both side continued to test the patience of Referee Gerry Sutton with each side being march 10 metres for Talking back to the Referee, that boiled over with 9 minutes to go in the first half with Western Suburbs Hooker, Stuart Flanagan has his say and not only resulted in Western Suburbs being marched 10 metres, Flanagan was marched himself, Sutton having no hesitation in sending him to the Sin Bin for 10 minutes to cool his temper.

Western Suburbs although a man down scored leading into half time with man mountain Daine Laurie wearing the Number 22 crashed through Wentworthvilles Defences to score. Gallant Converted the try from in front. Western Suburbs had a Chance to go into the Break on even terms with Wentworthville when stripping the ball from a Wentworthville Player during the 2nd set after the try was scored, deep in Wentworthvilles half. Fortunately the referee deemed the action to be a knock on by Western Suburbs, and the game went into the break at Wentworthville 18, leading Western Suburbs 12.

At the Resumption of play Wentworthville went on the attack deep into the Western Suburbs 20, however they may have forgotten that Flanagan was coming back on, while defending from great position the ball found Flanagan who had just run onto the field at centre and he made a powerful 20 - 30 metre run to put Western Suburbs on the attack.

The Play worked its way between the 2 20 metre zones till a kick at the end of a set saw Kris Inu competing with another Wentworthville player to take the catch, the ball struck Inu's shoulder and went into the arms of Western Suburbs Player Shannon Gallant, who ran around the two catchers to beat the outside defence and score in the South Western Corner. Gallant converted his own try to see the scores level pegging at 18 all.

Wentworthville were the next to score when replacement Centre James Grehan scored a slicing try of some good lead-up play by the forward, Maloney successfully converted to see Wenty take a 6 point lead.

The referees Whistle was again heard at the 59th Minute when a penalty was awarded to Wentworthville 5 metres out, Maloney Opted for the shot at goal which was successfully taken 20 metres out and 15 metres in from the Western Side of Concord Oval to see Wentworthville Extend their lead to 8.

Western Suburbs replied with a try to Stuart Flanagan in the 64th Minute after a feast of Mistakes from Wentworthville and some good pressure from Western Suburbs. The Conversion was unsuccessful by Gallant and the Western Suburbs Side looked like they were going to come home strong.

Wentworthville turned the tide with some quick passing and some even better work from the left hand side combination of Mark Luland an Iwi Hauraki, with Luland chasing a chip kick into the North Eastern Corner to score. Unfortunately the Kick was waved away from Maloney and the game moved into the last 10 minutes.

At 7 Minutes to go in the half the Scoreboard clock stopped which caused confusing among the fans and the players alike. We would also like the report that the score board was showing a crushing victory to West Harbour over Chatswood, 48 - 36.

With about 5 minutes to go, Wentworthville were awarded a penalty, and half back Maloney opted for a shot at goal, a decision that seemed to worry Coach Rip Taylor as he walked past me on the way to the sideline to join his coaching staff, Wentworthville did seem to have the ascendancy and I think Rip may have wanted his side to push for Maximum Points.

Western Suburbs scored a consolation try with only seconds remaining on the Time keepers watch, with a strong run form 10 out by Winger Nick Taylor who sliced and stepped through the Wentworthville Defences to place the ball on the chalk despite the attention of a Wentworthville defender. The Conversion was successful by Shannon Gallant. As Wentworthville trotted back to the kick off the Siren sounded and the referee called full time.
