Agreed with a few posters above, very well reffed game. Kudos to the men in charge.

Broncos weren't dudded but I wish they were, would have been karma for when they were gifted the '06 cup . . . players were responsible for winning or losing this time around

I realise this has basically been taken as a troll thread, but did anyone go back and watch it?

Feldt pretty obviously knocked on didn't he? It's a huge call.

Also, what a huge play from Feldt to strip the ball from Milford (although I guess "officially" he just bumped his arm) and then strip the ball from Hunt all in the same play. The strip on Hunt was a particularly nifty bit of work.

When you're directly facing your try line and drop the ball in front of you it is a knock on Manu. Only Darius can get away with that.

When did Feldt knock on? Dislodging the ball from Milford? Or are you talking about Linnett possibly losing it into a Broncos player during the last set of regular time?

Both looked sus but happy to give the referees the benefit of the doubt. I don't have any conclusive footage and to adjudicate real time would have been awfully tough.

In the end, the referees weren't the difference. JT's last tackle options vs the Broncos was just enough to make it a one point ball game. If you wanted to, you could comb through the game and could argue the Broncos were unlucky not to receive a penalty on a number of occasions but it isn't going to change anything. At the end of the days, in big games, the refs will do everything they can to avoid blowing penalties. Even when it's obvious they should be blown (seriously, Thaiday's knock on was about the most obvious 3 on 1 play at the ball from Tamou...).

Yes. And there's no debate about whether it went forward or not, it went pretty much directly forward. And given the situation, it's pretty obvious he was trying to knock the ball out.

It's a tough one for the refs to call in broken play but realistically it's about 95% likely that that was a knock on. Only alternative is to say he knocked Milford's arm.

yeah no problem with the Thaiday lost ball, he was trying to pass it. You can see Hunt screaming at Thaiday for trying to offload in that situation.

My main beef with the refs was the Cows seemed to get away with slowing down the ruck a lot more than we did but really that didn't make much difference to the contest in the end.

That was my working theory of the situation. Difficult to tell without another angle but things were happening so quickly, I don't blame the referees.

Thaiday was trying to offload he was fair game imo.

Thaiday was roundly outplayed by Tamou

A player getting his arm free doesn't negate the legality of a multi-person strip.

Also a better performance doesn't make you bullet proof. Although I'm sure in some referees eyes, it does.

I watched the last two minutes or so again (not sure why I put myself through it) and 2 cowboys players were two metres offside when they tackled Parker on the play before Milford made the break. Milford also broke through two tacklers so I think that means Kyle Feldt stripped him in a two-on-one tackle by the rules even though it was one-on-one at the time (not 100% sure on this).

The Broncos were duddued but, and I say this as a hugely devout and still bitterly disappointed Broncos member, they have only themselves to blame for playing negative football for the entire second half. Even though they only came up 5 seconds short, they should have been playing attacking football for at least the first 15-20 minutes of the second half. Defending a 4 point lead for 35 minutes against the cowboys is ridiculous.

lol you say that the Broncos were 'dudded' however they got away with their own calls.
Mainly JT being stripped and it being ruled a try.

At what point does he promote it forward?
