I didn't say it wasn't and i never said expansion will happen in 2013, i just said when it happens there will be two spots open.

IMHO, there are three bid teams that would meet NRL criteria currently. When the NRL wants to expand is up to them but i think it will be in 2013 or 2014.
Yes there will be 2 spots open but only if 2 bids fit the criteria. They aren't going to accept a bid that is lacking in areas just to make up the numbers. So even if your beloved bears fit the criteria it is not a given that they will enter the competition unless another bid is acceptable also.

Some criticism of the WA REds bid from another thread.

1. 2 more teams for Qld sound good.
2. Do not waste money promoting the game in Afl states
3. Read point 2 again.
4. You cannot convert Afl fans.
5. Take your hand off of it if you think you can.

Who says there are 2 spots? Who said there are any spots? The NRL has said it will look at expansion, they have not guaranteed it. You're putting the horse before the cart here. I hope expansion occurs but at the moment it is not a certainity.
And where would you put the horse?

I agree mate, that same poster has started on his merry little way about how the NRL will never be truly national because of the domination of AFL in other states and how new Rugby League teams should only be in NSW and QLD because nobody else likes Rugby League and how the WA Reds have only have 200 fans.

Time consuming putting him in his place.

Female's wanted to start up a RL team in Northbridge and North Beach is going great guns recruiting players from juniors up.

RL is looking good in Perth. NIB Stadium just needs some more undercover seating which they'll get when the renovations happen.

WA REDS READY TO ROLL IN SG BALL COMP
Rugby League is alive and well in the West with the WA Reds SG Ball team readiing for the on slaught which is the toughest u18 competition on the planet.
The NSWRL league junior reps competition has produced most of the top flighorriest NRL and International players over the past half a century
"Brett Kimmorley visited the WA Reds, SG Ball (red jerseys) and Junior Development (grey jerseys) squads on Saturday morning at Belmont's, Centenary Oval.
It's not often that the West gets so close to players or coaches of Brett's caliber and the boys listened intently to his every word."
