yes WIN show NRL at a decent time outside of Perth. It is only Ch9 Perth that shaft us for some unknown reason as viewing figures for NRL on a Sunday afternoon in Perth are higher than for the cr4p they replaced it with.

There is no question Perth is an AFL town and were kidding ourselves if we think RL will ever challenge it, BUT we can be the No2 sport in this town and that could be massive in its own right. We are a big, rich city with major corporates based here. The sport that really nails that 2nd code spot will reap the benefits. Soccer has been a basket case since Tannis pulled out of Glory and RU has had a free ride. Time to right some wrongs and get RL back as No2 in Perth!

I'm not sure about that but is has been 10 years since I lived up north. I know WIN show live League sometimes but not living in the country I am not sure how often

I'm pretty sure they thanked that area for choosing the NRL footy show at the start of one of the seasons on air.

Most definitely, the thing i don't like is the labeling an area with a sport. I wouldn't label Sydney as a Rugby League city, there are many opportunities for all sports in Sydney. The same i am sure are in Perth. Even though, Sydney is dominated by Rugby League.

I agree 100%. There's an audience already there waiting to be grown larger.

WA Reds Supporters Group - The Red Army officially formed tonight and we now have a steering group that will mobilize the RL fans of WA. Another positive step forward for the code in the West.

Not in Kal they don't, we still get the NRL Footy Show late, but we do get NRL games on a Sunday at around 3pm.

That's good news.. though a tad confusing because the Bears supporter group has been known as the Red&Black Army for many a year now. I still think that you guys should take advantage of the initials W.A.R. for marketing purposes...

Anyways keep up the good work W.A. Reds. You have mine and the CCBEARS full support.

Where outside of Perth has facilities to hold a preseason game or NRL game? Not including Freemantle.

St George also have the red and white army. We will have a "WARZONE" area at NIB for NRl games come 2013 - the army bit fits nicely with the W.A.R. theme. We will be using red camo as our supporters group colours probably.

Thanks for the good wishes.

Preseason trial game?
Would have to be played on one of the Australian Football grounds like Rushton Park in Mandurah or Hands Oval in Bunbury (Rushton Park has far better facilities being a WAFL ground than Hands Oval). There are no Rectangular facilities outside of Perth capable of hosting Rugby League of high quality.

Does everything have to be about the bears? Parra supporters have been referred to as the blue and gold army since the early 80's. Your not trail blazers!

Its all too confusing isnt it. Theres a GOLD Coast team already in the comp and now the possibility of a CENTRAL Coast team. This expansion stuff is getting out of hand.

God help you if we ever have a SUNSHINE Coast team. Your brain just might fail.

i have a legit question for those close to the bid - i really want to support this bid, because the more i hear about b2 and cc, the more i dislike their like structures.

but, with the reds, theres a very obvious problem - the fact that its been tried and failed. reds fans seem to insist they were a victim of the super league war, despite being a thriving club.

however the reds, after 3 seasons, with relatively good crowd numbers and super league/news ltd backing were still $10m in the hole.

why will this time be different? would we be doing what the afl does and admitting a club that will have to be propped up in the name of expansion?

Player salaries exploded during the SL era and few clubs could keep up, let alone new clubs in frontier markets + didn’t the old Reds have to pay for the airfares of visiting teams to Perth?
