Broncos won't be keen on another team. Neither will the Titans or Dolphins. It won't stop V'landys from putting a team in the western corridor if the business case stacks up.
If everything came down to what the Broncos want then we wouldn't have the Titans and Dolphins. The days of the Broncos running the show died long ago.
Truth is we've got limited options for expansion.
Perth is a rusted on fumbleball market smaller than Brisbane. It has fewer juniors than Melbourne. The bloke pushing for a Perth-based team sponsored the Reds. The Reds went bankrupt. TV ratings for AwFuL in Perth are shit.
@Perth Red blames it on the Eagles and Dockers having shit seasons, yet the Broncos were the most watched team when they got the wooden spoon in 2020. Cowboys, Titans and Dolphins had shit seasons on the field, but still drew almost twice as many viewers in Brisbane than the Eagles and Dockers in Perth. It proves Perth is a very fickle market and will rely on a Melbourne Storm model to carve out a sustainable niche.
Adelaide has no bid.
NZ2 has no bid.
North Sydney Bears want a team, but are in an oversaturated market. Their non-negotiables don't help their cause.
If Dolphins continue to average 30k+ at Lang Park and pull strong sponsorship deals and TV ratings then Brisbane 3 is a certainty within the next decade. Brisbane Tigers are ready to go and are the safest option.
