He was a great goal kicker, in that game where the picture was taken against Canterbury he kicked a pressure goal to give Easts the lead with only minutes left on the clock after Marty Gurr scored.

My favourite image is a memory I have of Chris Close bursting through the Parramatta front line 10m out and finding skinny little Brett Kenny loitering behind the ruck. This was at a time when Chopper and Crusher on the charge were the scariest things in RL and Manly were the bullyboys of the competition.

Close put on the Maori sidestep to trample him underfoot and Bert dropped him like a sack of spuds.

C. 1982-83 in a semi IIRC.

Never been able to find footage of it, anybody else remember it?
