good one jay.... are you referring to the CSSC?? you dont even know what you are talking about but you start a thread on it?

and to answer your question... i think they are great, to have a year like we did and still show up to all games home and away and in some cases drown out the home supporters is a credit to them. This thread will just becaome another 'bag the sharks' thread but if it makes people feel good to do that on a faceless forum then good for them.

I thought they were a lot more noticeable in 08 than they were in 09, but they had a hell of a lot more to cheer about in 08 though.
As far as supporter groups go, there not too bad i guess, im pretty nuetral about them.

Sharks fans? Inbred waxheads who were concieved on Wanda beach through 14 year old parents and 2 bottles of spewmante.

And without them, Endeavour would look empty. God bless 'em!

Ive got a question about the shirts they all wear. Are these shirts supplied by the club or are they supplied by theesupporter group. Does the money paid for the shirts go to the club? If not, would it not be better to encourage members to buy official sharks jerseys or official supporter gear from the sharks' shop in order to maximise their revenue. The Sharks need all the help they can get with revenue, while an extra 50-100 jersey sales every year might not be much every cent counts.

No they are not supplied or bought at the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks club. The supporters club has it's own sponsors, and shirts etc.

FTR the current chairman was one of the original founders of the CSSC.

I am not a member of the CSSC.

Every team needs a group like them, ive tried putting songs and chants together for cowboys games but the soccer type supporting doesn't digest well with the average league fan. I love it though, former orange army soldier and now foundation member of the NQ Fury "F-troop" so groups donning the colours and signing songs is great to see

The only problem I have with them is that they produce their own merch. Great for them to make their own money, but could be better spent on a certain piece of club merchandise, be it a certain type of polo or jersey they can all wear to identify themselves.

Surely the league needs more such dedicated people.

To be beaten and bruised like them, so often, for scant reward.....this is a devotion of the mightiest kind...

I salute them. And wish there were perhaps twice as many. I wish their stadium was better too...and I wish they had more money.

Gee, I wonder if they will survive....the supporters could go down the road and support St George Illawarra.

So its win/win.

Any fans of any team who turn up every single week when your team is having a nightmare season deserve respect. Without them the game dies.

i say good on em for being business savvy and skilled enough to get the sponsorship.

hopefully the same skills can be put to use at board level.

i did the same thing for me oztag. we play D grade and ive got 3 local businesses onboard. all bie it people we know but you still have to negoitate it. got 1 company to pay for the purchase of the jerseys initially, then i negotiated with the other 2 businesses to cover our playing and rego fees for the year (about 1500 bucks a year).
yes they could have spend the money with the club, but theyre season ticket holders anyway.

and seing as LG was on everything....well. i refrained from buying merchandise except for the 10 yard line retro polo. spend my money on other thing slike wall of support etc.

and no im not a member of the masons.

I don't really understand why they manufacture their own supporters shirts, like ok shirts that's fine but actual jerseys?
They would be better spent negotiating with the club to get a % of the jumpers themselves if people became members - That way the club gets a profit as well.

Apart from that they're wonderful.

To be fair, you'll find the majority of CSSC members are members of Cronulla-Sutherland club and season ticket holders.

Most will have 2 or 3 NRL sanctioned jerseys, hats, scarfs etc.

One bloke does not miss games, goes to Townsville, Auckland wherever the sharks are playing.

Like I said not a member of the CSSC myself only the Cronulla Sutherland club. The CSSC boys seem happy to be members.

For the record the CSSC is currently working with the Sharks club to sort out an option that will allow us to incorporate both our own sponsors, as well as push revenue back into the club.

That said, as Mr Angry has already mentioned - for the most part we are absolute tragics, and most of our members would have disproportionately large amounts of Sharks merch. Just because we don't wear it at the game doesn't mean we don't own it.
