What do the Warriors need to win a premiership?

The Warriors are about to embark on their 20th season this year. And although they have a minor premiership and a couple of grand final losses under their belt, they have so far been unable to win the premiership.

They have had quality coaches (Monie, Anderson, Cleary). They have had star players (Jones, Ridge, Wiki, Price, Tate and now Tomkins). They have had the hard grafters (Campion, Luck, Mannering). And the underrated players who carry the team forward (Ngamu, Tony, McKinnon). They have a fortress in Mt Smart Stadium.

Yet they have failed to win the big one. Why? Do they need that 'best in the world' player? Or a supercoach (Bellamy or Hasler?) Is there a rotten culture? Are more seasoned veterans (in the mould of Campion or Luke O'Donnell) necessary? A good run of no-injuries?

What do you think? What has to happen for the Warriors to finally win a premiership?

Better talent scouting. the Aussie clubs are loaded with kiwi talent that if identified by the Warriors first would make them a powerhouse.

Half of our side in 2013 were born in NZ. If they'd kept a few of them for themselves they'd be in good shape.

Get a consistent side that rock up EVERY week.

So many games last year it was like Warriors players didnt want to be there.

On others some of the best plays and great attack.

Their last game of the season vs Dragons showed this.

Dragons struggled all year and lost to Eels week earlier and Warriors were playing for a finals spot but had no urgency at all in the game and didn't seem interested.

Have the other 15 clubs be pinged for salary cap breaches.

You can't rely on a single trick like this. They might be able to scupper one or two clubs like this, but they need more ideas.

They need to encourage a couple of their less talented players to take one for the team, sign for opposition clubs and then "do a Russell" and get themselves sent to prison.

Other clubs have their salary caps chewed up and lose out in the player market.

They could do to other clubs like the New Orleans Saints did to themselves. Have their coach suspended for illegal actions. Maybe they could pack Michael Maguires car full of cocaine and Trent Robinson could be outed for buying children. Well, we've got no juniors so we have to get our kids somehow right?

Any other ideas?

Replace the word Warriors with Cowboys in the OP and it would read almost exactly the same.

A coach.

Have always had and still have plenty of talent but for some reason it has not been talent that is easily coachable. They destroy a team one week then get destroyed just as often. I don't rate their current coach. For them to go all the way they need the type of man who can get the best out of their considerable talent.

I think they really need to look at creating even more ridiculous subzero and fire jerseys. You can never create too many meaningless and irrelevant jerseys.
