OK, in response to the other thread...time for some positivity....

-Daytime games
-Leichhardt Oval
-The Pommy imports (Burgess, Ellis, even Flanagan) doing so well
-Hayne, Goodwin, Pearce, etc - sons of greats doing well
-Cold winter nights watching games at the pub with a few beers and maybe a good feed

i have less than half a season left of mediocrity from my team to endure before another off season and another chance to get my hopes up.

Top 5 this i love:

1. My dragons doing great and knowing they will turn up and give their best each week.

2. To hate the Storm.

3. Recent struggling Sydney teams doing so well.

4. Footy, beer and sausage roll go so well together.

5. So many games are great clashes these days. (salary cap is doing something right).

I love:
1. watching Jarryd Hayne play and then listening to how jealous people are when they bag him out.
2. my team winning the games that matters ( against storm).
3. the atmosphere at games especially in games where we play the bulldogs, dragons, manly.
4. watching bulldogs fans get arrested everytime they play parra.
5. The emotions the game brings out in a person- how your team winning/losing can determine how you feel for the rest of the week.
6- the aggression that the players bring to the game ( when they do). Its so refreshing especially after watching soccer games and seeing Christiano Ronaldo flying at a tap on the arm.

- Knowing that out of beating Canterbury at ANZ or the Broncos at Suncorp, they will probably rank as Newcastle's best wins of the season and I was there for both of them.

- Knowing that as decidedly mediocre as the Knights are this season, they won't be getting the spoon.

Other than that, I'd love to have the confidence that Dragons and Panthers fans have atm. Can't believe Penrith have turned it around so well after their crap exit to the season last year!

We havent made the finals yet! there is still a long way to go before i'll feel comfortable about making the finals after the dribble we have served up toward the end of the season the last few years, But im happy so far.

Billy "Ric Flair" Slater (ie the dirtiest player in the game) and all his Storm chums will be getting the spoon

Easts won't be getting the spoon

the St Merge choke will be happening in a couple of months

Carney hasn't been sacked yet

Pearce is NSW#7

Minichiello is only 5 tries away from 100 tries for Easts

all the young blood coming up at Easts

What i love most about the NRL right now is what i've always loved most, the Canberra Raiders. Win lose or draw, knowing the next week or season brings new hope and new optimism of a good result and at worst, its another chance to indulge in my greatest passion.
Losses suck, but buggered if i know what id do with myself if i didnt have the Raiders to cheer on and even if we're smashed off the park, its the highlight of my week to support the Raiders.

Watching games at Suncorp Stadium and the Double Headers (should be more of).

And the hope that one day thanks to the WC - Townsville, Canberra, Newcastle will enjoy the same standard.

Broncos turnaround after blooding so many youngsters early on, production line keeps on contributing to the NRL.

Watching two awesome young fullbacks play, Josh Dugan and Lachlan Coote, thats about it, other than that, there's been to much BS go on this year.
