You look better with a $10m team around you than a $5m team.

You really have no idea. The Storm were nowhere near $5m over. They got done for $1.7m over four years.

Plus your argument has been proven wrong by Parramatta anyway

Anf your argument was that both Smith and Slater will be immortals?
Coz you realise they won't right?

The immortals is a dumb gimmick nonsense that should be replaced by a proper NRL run hall of fame and to me Cameron Smith would be go straight in as soon as he was eligible.

I agree that the immortals should be replaced with a hall of fame. And if the NRL don't wise up to that, I still believe that both Cameron Smith and Billy Slater deserve to be immortals. Two of the best to play the game.

Slater is the only player I've seen that had teams, consistently, deliberately kick the ball dead and give away a 20m tap instead of having him return the ball

Well yeah, the immortals is just a RLW marketing gimmick no doubt.

The question comes down to what standard we judge potential entrants. If the hall of fame was only to include the same echelon of player currently considered for immortal status, then both Slater and Smith miss out. Unluckily for them really because both could have good arguments made for them.

My personal opinion is that a proper NRL run HoF is the ONLY real solution. I'd even like to see the standard loosened slightly to include a whole plethora of players who havd missed out on immortal status. Both Smith and probably Slater would fall into this category.
