What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

We'll see when the No.1s come back, they'll be after him, he's got a huge target on his chest now after all this hype, the roiding nutters will be after his rib cage.

I think he'll go to Sevens, that's the rumour I heard. But maybe the ARU Sevens won't want J Hayne.

ARU won't want hayne?
The only recognizable player the ARU have in any of their systems is Israel Falou and he is only half the player Hayne is. ARU couldn't afford hayne lol

Official NFL online shop has started advertising pre-orders for Hayne jerseys,i would imagine the NFL made a call to the 49ers and asked if Hayne has made the 53 man squad as they would be very keen to start selling them.

Doubt it means anything. They're just meeting a demand.

I'm sure Hitler 39 would probably be a big seller if offered also.

I would expect to see Hitler spending most of his time in the ref's bunker if he was anywhere near an NFL game...

People can easily return the jersey and get refunds hassle free if he doesn't make it,i would say it means something.

If Hayne doesn't make it, we'll all be deafened by the sound of gridiron nerds wanking themselves senseless while ranting about superior athletes and 40 yard sprint times.

I like how the Madden Fan Bois take a joke account's statements as being representative of the general League public's beliefs with respect to Hayne.

And further keep trying to belittle his achievements thus far, because he hasn't played against first string opposition.

If a guy from the US came over here and carved up in trial games against teams made up of players who would be in NSW cup or not playing at all it would be no different. That's the equivalent of what he's doing right now. He's making the most of his opportunity sure, but this Michael Jordan of Australia crap is just ridiculous.

It would be a significant story in Australian League circles. Someone who has never played League at any level and looked like he belonged. Of course, it wouldn't be a story outside of League or within America. But that says more about the status of our sport.

Nobody sensible is calling him "Michael Jordan" (WTF is that comparison anyway?? Jordan was a ONE sport star).

There is clearly a couple of joke posts in this thread that for some reason you have pounced on as being representative of the League public's view. But then you have massively over compensated by trying to claim that basically what he is doing is easy and only against scrubs.

I mean what is it Madden FanBois? is the NFL the toughest, hardest sports competition on the planet or beyond its starting lineups everyone is basically geniused.

The difference between the first string sides and the backups is huge. Plus it's preseason which means absolutely nothing. The Lions went four and oh in a preseason a few years back before following it up with an oh and sixteen season.

Beyond the highlights I definitely wouldn't say Hayne looks like he belongs. He's shown some flashes but his running between the tackles doesn't look good at all. I think he'll make the side but I'd be surprised if he sees the field at all kick/punt returns aside which is an easy transition for a guy who's played fullback and is used to returning the ball at oncoming defenders.

Rather than watching the highlights on the news, follow the game and watch one start to finish and tell me you can't see the glaring difference between Hayne and the other regulars.

I'm not diminishing his achievements at all but some people are acting like he's about to get this multiyear deal for huge numbers. It's not the case at all. I'm laughing at the people suggesting he's going to get upwards of five million dollars a year. Not a chance.

BMore of the big boys played and Hayne had relatively little involvement

Commentator mucked up his name a few times

He might well make the squad, might not too - he needs a year or two to develop I think

No-one besides a couple of troll accounts in this thread are claiming he is going to get the max salary this year.

As you know because of the rookie salary structure he isn't able to sign a fat contract . But as if he won't make some coin from endorsements due to his "novelty". To even make it as a kick return specialist is remarkable. Desmond Howard won a Super Bowl MVP playing this role and signed a $6M contract on the back of it in the 90s. If its such an "easy" transition then why dont players from all Rugby codes try out??

He has never played before in his life and you don't think that it is remarkable that he may make the squad so early on? Even his biggest fans didn't think he would get there until next year at least. You seem to think that because he isn't at the level of 5 year pros he isn't that great? I don't understand why you Madden guys are so down on him, like he has offended you or something.

Its 2015, you don't think most sports fans have watched literally hundreds of NFL games over the years? Its been shown on Australian TV since the 80s. Playing Madden doesn't make you an expert.

There's no max salary in the NFL.

I didn't say a kick return specialist wasn't remarkable. I just said he wasn't going to cut it as a running back. The transition to a kick returner is far easier than it is to be a running back. I'm sure more guys could make it if they wanted to. Doesn't really strike me as something that interests the majority. Most of them prefer league and are far happier playing that then jogging on the field, waving one arm in the air, catching the ball and jogging off which he'll be doing a lot more of against the starters. No, he isn't that great at american football as of right now. Right now he's an interesting prospect. Great is consistently playing well week in week out above the average player. He's battling for a roster spot. Great players don't even bother with the preseason outside a handful of snaps. I'm not a madden guy either. Never found the games that much fun. More of an NBA2K guy. Wonderful engine, runs smooth.

And no, most people haven't watched a ton of NFL games that I know of. A lot are jumping on the bandwagon now because of the coverage it's receiving and are only seeing the highlights provided.

You seriously think I believe Hayne is a great American Footballer??

What sort of drugs are you on.

So now the Madden guys are saying "Well some positions are piece of piss"

Unbelievable.

Some positions are easier than others. Kick/punt return man is one of them. There's a reason there's very few specialists in the role anymore. You need to be able to bring something else given the new kick off rules. They're not going to pay someone to stand back there and watch a ball sail over there head.

If Hayne had gone over there with the intentions of playing quarterback or middle linebacker he'd of been laughed off the runway.

I don't know why you're getting all precious about it. It's just my opinion. Who cares?
