What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

that's a real f**king shame. Id actually shell out $2 to get the Telegraph if i knew Slothfield was going to deliver the LULz with his "expert" opinion on NFL

Geez there over hyping these 3 fumbles, they cost the team nothing, 0 points total.

Americans are over the top.

All 3 of his fumbles were pretty significant errors in judgement, that is the worrying thing. If you have anything more than a 10% error rate in the NFL, you don't last long. His 3rd fumble in particular would have scared the 49ers out of giving him more RB time, one handed loose carries with 3 guys hanging off you is a textbook recipe for a fumble for a RB.

As for him at RB, his running is 'ok' but he looks absolutely clueless blocking even if he makes a block, which is why the coaches would be reluctant to give him more time... Coupled with incredibly poor ball security and it doesn't equal anything but a few relatively minor plays throughout a game.

On the plus side for Hayne, Kendall Hunter is ineligible to be re-signed by the 49ers from IR as they didn't do his paperwork in time, so they'd need to sign someone else from another team to replace him in the squad.

How was his 2nd "fumble" remotely his fault? He called a fair catch and got bowled over by his team mate

The 49ers are just a woeful f**king team. Hayne is in no way a factor in how shit their defence is or how terrible Kap is at QB

Correct they are terrible, Krapernick is just first class awful and his offensive line couldn't block a girls team it seems..
They scored a huge three points all game

I thought Hayne was a POS his entire career.

And I'm not going to start supporting him because he is "one of ours on the world stage". And I find Fox Sports over the top coverage ridiculous.

Hayne so should have went to Seahawks.

His management have obviously just gone the team they thought would be the easiest to crack

Buzz Slothhead will miss the decibel-charged Aye League derby that all of Sydney can't wait for.

Because an experienced receiver would have left it. You have to catch a ball for it to be a fair catch. You fumble the ball and it is now live which means the kicking team can regather. He called it way too late with too much traffic.

In those situations the receiver screams get away from the ball to ensure it isn't live. Worst case scenario by 'leaving it' they concede 5 more yards before it goes over the sideline, best case scenario it keeps on rolling into the end zone and they're back on the 20. Worst case scenario by going for it, he fumbles and the kicking team regathers in virtually guaranteed TD position.

The 49ers are a terrible side, but there is no point sugar coating the fact that hayne has had little contribution and a high error rate. When you're a rookie that gets you dropped, just like in the nrl.

Wouldn't make the team

Considering there come out and said they only got there return man from the draft because Hayne said no there's a decent chance he would have been given ago. The bloke they went with Lockett is absolute killing it.

Haven't heard anything about drafting Lockett purely because they missed out on Hayne

Hayne options

And when it comes to Hayne, this columnist is as big a fan of his "chase your dream" story with the 49ers as there is. The phone started to ring on Friday as soon as he was made an "inactive" player for San Francisco's clash with the Seahawks. Rival clubs were saying that Hayne would end up at the Roosters as early as next year if things went south.

Yes, the Roosters have cap problems, but surely the NRL would come up with allowances to ensure that a player as good and as marketable as Hayne would get a start. If anyone could make it happen it would be Roosters head honcho Nick Politis. Here's hoping it doesn't get to that point and Hayne continues his NFL journey.

Weedler basically saying the NRL should let the roosters cheat the cap because of two reasons: its the roosters, and it's Hayne.

Wonder if he would feel the same if it was any other club. Also wonder if he felt the same when folau tried to be signed by a club a few years back but was blocked by NRL

Has Weidler always been such a massive Rooster fan?

I can remember the yearly Pearce origin interviews but lately it's been embarrassing.
