Def Leppard's drummer was pretty armless.

All the above song are probably still avialable on 8 track, somewhere.

How about "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison?
"I Remember You" by Skid Row?
The big ballads were always pretty popular.

"Kickstart My Heart" is still used as background music on pretty much every motor racing news segment. I guess that would make it count.

Which Van Halen song is the one that still gets played on MMM all the time? It's a Hagar-era one...might be "Dreams"?

RJ...I used to have that "other" Europe album on original tape. You're thinking of "Out Of This World", I believe it's called. Actually, I think I've still got it somewhere  It was definitely underrated, sure it didn't have the big singles like "The Final Countdown", but generally the songs were better, with some killer riffs.

Kick start my heart is still played everywhere!!.....it was actually played before the kick off to the Parra vs Souths game.....it got me going!!

That Europe album is amazing and your right, it didn't have the big names but the whole album is pretty flawless musically, great vocals, guitar, keyboard......great album!!, i actually found it the other day going through some old stuff & i decided to put it on and i loved it!!

For all your RA streaming 80s Hair Metal needs..........i highly recommend Lita Ford/Ozzy Osbourne's "Close my eyes forever" and Dio's "Rainbow in the Dark" to any of the uneducated

Umm.........Ozzie never had Priest behind him.

You're thinking of Black Sabbath. And yes No More Tears is excellent.

Priest are alright....but at the top??, they where consistent...but so where the Ramones....yet the Remones never had a Platinum album!

Record sales do play apart imo.

This is what pisses me off!!!.....Dee Dee Ramone pasted away 24 hours after Robin Crosby did from Ratt....yet there was barely a mention of Robin..yet there was an out poor of emotion from biased music sources & authors on talentless Dee Dee!!.

The Ramones never....NOT ONE PLATINUM ALBUM!!.....yet Ratt's first album wen't triple platinum....and all the others after that wen't Platinum....but Robin who in the 80's with Ratt there music was in more movies then most of the 80's rock groups combined.....hell even Ratt where the first one's asked to do the Soundtrack for Top Gun!!

Biased muso's!!!

Priest did have platinum albums and they were better than consistant.

When you hear the term Metal Gods, you think of Judas Priest. On top? Bloody oath they were.

EG the kings of Rock n' Roll has got to be Kiss, now they where one consistent band, in to the year 2000 and they still have 5 million members in there army & can still sell out stadiums all over the world, you'll probably disagree on me with this, but gee they can still attract and audience.

I know the popularity of KISS and I'd be one of the ones in the crowd to watch them. I first saw them in 1979 in Adelaide. However, Judas Priest are still pulling stadium size audiences as well and with Rob Halford back in the fold and a world tour which will include for the first time Australia will see them as the premier heavy metal band on the planet again.

Please don't knock the Ramones. They were among the pioneers of punk. Not just a musical sub-genre, but a veritable way of life for a LOT of people, their influence still resonates strongly to this day and probably will forever. Important bands as varied as The Strokes, Nirvana, and even U2 and the Chili Peppers cite the Ramones as a key influence. They were hardly about platinum albums - record sales may play a part, but they are far from the be all and end all. The Ramones legacy is huge, and their place in rock history is secure - as it should be.

I disagee Godzilla, i don't hate the Ramones......let's get that straight, i just hate how some bands who due to a particular music type they appeal too get descriminated, you know what i mean....glam rock = zero credibility yet glam rock musicians are just as talented if not more then other bands.

The ramones where never techincally brillant, they revolved around simple chord structures with a minor solo on some instances, yet glam rock bands had the whole lot...fast adagio's on the guitar, brillant tapping sequences, banging out 17 piece drum sets in the fastest times possible & singers with wonderfull voices, the Ramones where none of this....yet there given rock gods status....or in this case punk rock ;-)

Nirvana's biggets influence actually was ACDC, but i know where your comming from...the Chili Peppers did personify alot of punk in there younger days.

I don't know if this is correct, but im sure Joey Ramone and the rest of them where actually glam to start of with??
