Have now watched a few of the Oscar nomed movies:

Loved American Hustle and Wolf of Wall Street
Gravity - pretty good
12 Years - can not understand the rave reviews.

I have a punt and say anyone who gave it less then say 4 stars would be worried about being labelled a racist. Haven't seen it yet so I cant comment on it

It has great reviews because it is a great movie. Much better than Wolf of Wall Street or American Hustle.

Each to their own. Didn't do it for me just as the other two you mentioned failed to impress you.

I have to agree. I thought the director failed to give the impression that 12 years had actually passed. Felt more like 1Summer as a slave. There were some good performances but lacked the power I was expecting.

Need for Speed. Nice cars. Terrible acting. I think Kevin Costner made a cameo as a Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am driving old dude.

the incredible burt wonderstone

is it a running joke within the anchorman cast to have their love interests in their movies be several galaxies out of their league?

Watched a bit on Foxtel and it was awful. Not funny at all. I find Steve Carrell very hit and miss with his humour and this was a big miss IMO.

Spaceballs is being shown at a local cinema here in Wellington in a couple of weeks, that gives me great helmet!!!!

After watching it about 54 quadrillion times on a taped-from-TV VHS throughout the entirety of the 90s, gonna be awesome to catch on the big screen for the first time!

This was on last night, was great!!! Even though I was still nursing the tailend effects of a hangover, heh.

Highlight had to be reliving the "Hello My Baby Hello My Honey Hello My Ragtime GAAAAL" scene on big screen, haha, love it!

One of the trailers playing when we got in was for an upcoming movie called Transcendence, looked pretty cool, has anyone heard anything about this (I haven't).
