Saw Ender's Game. I know the book is supposed to be fantastic, but the movie isn't. Too many one dimensional characters and predictable dialogue. The whole premise just seems silly. They have to use ten year olds to think up basic strategy?

5/10

And Ben Kingsley as a Maori? One of the worst casting choices ever. Shocking.

You don't like one dimensional characters, predictable dialogue and silly premises, but aren't you a fan of The Walking Dead?

Anyway, not sure why you think Ben Kingsley's casting was one of the worst ever. His accent was pretty good, I thought.

Doesn't matter about the accent, which wasn't good, an old British man pretending to be a Maori by painting tattoos all over his face looks ridiculous. His Maori accent was as bad as most of the Aussie accents in American movies, and Kingsley is usually great at accents.

Who would you cast to play a Maori, though?

It's a fairly big film, and there aren't exactly a myriad of quality Maori actors out there.

In the same way that I am a fan of Ed Wood films, yes :)

Kinda like a British guy pretending to be a Southern American sheriff, hey?

Or is it just half-Maori's that British dudes aren't supposed to play?

The Iceman - I thought he nailed the role, seemed very similar to how the real Kuklinski was in his interviews..Could have been a better movie overall though..still a 7.5 or 8/10

The Wolverine - 6.5..wasn't as good as the origins one or the other X-Men movies

We're The Millers - 7..better than I was expecting had a few laughs

Elysium - 6 ..Just didn't find it that good lol

Grown Ups - 6.5...Had a few funny moments

Get the Gringo - 7.5...Worth a watch

I didnt think I was going to be into the "fast zombie" aspect but I really enjoyed this. Great tension and story as well as Pitt being excellent as the lead.

Watched it the other day and thought it was pretty average. Pitt was good but I just thought the storyline was a bit lacking.

I dont think it was conceived as a single movie and will likely seem a bit "fuller" once the second one is released. They changed the last 3rd of the movie in post and it gave it a bit of a disjointed feel

Prisoners

Pretty enjoyable crime thriller. Gyllenhaal and Jackman were pretty brilliant and it kept me entertained for the whole 2.5 hours. The motivation of the villain was a bit 'meh', but nothing too offensive.

7.5/10

Highlander 2 - The Quickening. Original theatrical release.

Did you poke your eyeballs out after watching it? I almost did, it was that bad. It tried to completely re-write the first movie and was a bad movie to boot. No wonder the concepts it tried to bring in were ignore when they did Highlander 3.
