X-Men Apocalypse - 7/10. A plotless, aimless collection of great scenes cobbled together lazily, what happened to the Brian Singer who used to take his time developing character and theme? Rebooting all the X-Men we already know is stale, much like the continuous Spidey reboots. They get too much screen time at the expense of McAvoy and Fassbender, who are easily the two most fascinating characters of the franchise.

Watched the new Magnificent 7.

Alright popcorn flick but nothing on the original. I found the main villain quite comical, Denzel pretty stale but thought Hawke and Pratt at least brought a little bit of charisma.

I just think it is so shitty that they turn out these soulless money makers to try and replicate the success of originals with substance.

Suicide Kings, 8/10. Fun, barely known kidnap movie with an awesome Christopher Walken and Denis Leary. Mostly dialogue driven but with lots of little twists to keep it moving.

I'm interested in this movie. I listed to the Jay Mohr podcast (Jerry Maguire's nemesis).
I'm keen to watch this.

Lights Out - Not a bad horror/thriller. Ending was a bit meh though, think they ran out of ideas...

Sicario. Pretty intense movie. The director has made Enemy, Prisoners, Sicario and recently Arrival (which I've not seen). Definitely has talent. His movies are slower moving but are worth watching for sure.

He's directing the Blade Runner sequel too, him directing is the main reason I'm looking forward to it.

Bit of travel latelely.

Audrie and Daisy. Doco about a rape in US where the town turned on victims. Scarey how things turn out in some cases.

Independence Day sequel. Started ok but quickly turned to tripe.

Keanu. Instinct was to turn off halfway through but on a plane with little choice. Watching the back of the seat wouldnt have been much worse.

TMNT Out of the Shadows. Enjoyable for what it is and if you like TMNT then you would probably like this.

Star Trek latest. As above enjoyable for what it is but wont remember much about it a month from now.

Annie Hall. If you like Woody Allen then this is good but Incan see how you may not like it.
