Blood Father = I take it that Mel is very much in the Hollywood shit list when it comes to appearing in A-List movies. In saying that, Blood Father was pretty darn decent. Good performance from Mel and a decent story. I enjoyed it. 2 and a half out of 5.

Cliffhanger: Whenever Stallone's best work is talked about, this gem is often overlooked and in many ways forgotten. Great cinematography and scenery. The opening 15 minutes still gives me goosebumps with the tension. Stallone in fine form, great tension and John Lithgow making a memorable villain. I forgot how good it was until I watched it again. 4 out of 5......great movie.

I think Taika playing Hitler himself was a bit amateur to be honest. Agree the movie had its moments but wasn't as hilarious as I expected.

I liked it, not amazing bit enjoyable enough with a bit of heart. I chuckled a few times.

On Taika, apparently fox wouldn't greenlight the movie unless he played Hitler himself.

I like Taika's movies for the same reason as you - Boy is still top of the pile to me as the setting is just like my childhood.

But, Jojo is up with Hunt for me, quite easily. I think the satire worked perfectly and the laugh out loud moments (the one I mentioned above and the Heil Hitler introductions etc) were comedy gold.

Although who was saying it was his best? It got pretty mixed reviews and I don't think I've ever heard anyone say it's his best.

Personally I was introduced to Taika’s work through the movie Boy. Great little coming of age flick. Great mix of comedy and drama.

Plus not enough love for What we do in the shadows. Having Jemaine Clemment in the movie, the chemistry between the two is great

And JoJo Rabbit is a great movie. Not many you want to watch again not long after.

Not really a Val Kilmer fan but The Super on Amazon Prime is a fine thriller.

I'd seen this movie before and gave it another look as I bought a whole bunch of dvds for a very cheap price. "The Last King of Scotland" is a fiction movie which features the life of a real dictator in Idi Amin. Very solid movie with the star of the movie being Forest Whittaker. Forest mostly plays nice guy parts, but gee he played this very well
I only realised through watching the features that the main guy is that guy in "Split". I did not recognise him at all but heard his name.
    Good movie, great performances!

Spy Games with Robert Redford & Brad Pitt. Somehow I'd never seen it & saw it on Amazon Prime & gave it a run. I enjoyed Redford as the grizzled old spy staying a step ahead of his masters. Not likely to make any top 100 movies of the century lists, but an entertaining way to while away 2 hours. Would recommend.

I watched "Dodgeball" for the first time last night. I usually avoid a lot of US comedy but Im glad I watched this one. Stiller has a great talent for playing an asshole...this and his cameo in "Happy Gilmore" are gutbusting funny. I never thought I'd have liked it as much as I did.

Extremely overrated movie....this movie was released at a time when Eminem was in his prime and got way more love than what it deserved.

Not a lot annoys me in this world. But the one thing that does and annoyed me the most in 2020 is the rise of the conspiracy theory. The people that believe them absolutely annoy the shit out of me. I lost the friendship of my cousin due to pointing this shit out. He believed that many conspiracy theories that some of them actually clashed with each other...lol.
I tried to talk some sense into him but did not come close.

Rewatched glass after feeling empty the first time I watched it.

I like it a lot more the second time.

He absolutely subverted expectations deliberately and I think my disappointment was from all the Marvel porn and the kind of expectations I may have built in my mind but the trilogy was never about that.

With the new viewpoint, I enjoyed it alot more.

"Eye of the Tiger" - A B grade action flick from the 80s. Gary Busey as the lead actor is in his absolute element. He goes absolutely apeshit against a biker gang. The acting from Busey, Yephet Kotto and Seymour Cassell is pretty good. A better movie than it had a right to be.

    Very much a guilty pleasure.
