Has great tension ...just like the first .
Well worth watching .

Decent enough, funny moments, gory moments, bog standard superhero story obviously with villains.

There seems to be a lot of hype and I finished it thinking it was fine.

Watched this the other day as well.. seemed like it was written by a 14 year old kid in about 5 minutes. Possibly the worst comic book movie I’ve seen and there been some stinkers.

^^ agreed I didn't think anything could be worse than dark Phoenix in the X-Men franchise then I watched new mutants.

I think Dark Phoenix was worse because they Butchered such great source material. The New Mutants was always going to be crap so I wasn’t surprised when it was. They both make Thor the Dark World look like Captain America the winter soldier.

The New Mutants was supposed to be A Nightmare on Elm Street scary. The studio got cold feet and butchered it a half dozen times during its 3 year production as well as being hurt in the Disney acquisition.
It was to tie in with the Xmen but that was altered too and the studio fkd Dark Phoenix as well, so two (actually, three) potentially good movies were ruined.

The source material is strong; iconic. That the studio continue to bollocks it up is bewildering.

Yes, that's the one! Really great story telling. They just re-released on Blu Ray so I can only imagine something will come up soon for you (I still buy my movies though so unfortunately can't help you out in that area)
