Watched Old Henry last night .
Brilliant western set in 1906 starring Tim Blake Nelson & Stephen Dorff.
Story is about a widowed farmer with a teenage son who find a man who has been shot & barely alive who has a satchel full of cash .
3 men who are supposedly sherif & deputies come looking for him .
Things get nasty & it's basically you shouldn't antagonise a farmer who has a past .
Think John Wick in the old west.
It's not all action .theres great character build up & a few surprises .
8.5/10

I saw your post here yesterday and decided to watch this this arvo, it was very good, had a bit of an Unforgiven feel about it. Tim Blake Nelson was great. 7.5
If you haven't seen it I'd suggest you might like the Netflix series Godless, an excellent 7 part western.

Mamma Mia Here We Go Again

Got home from work just after 7pm last night and flicked on the TV while having dinner and this came on, thought i would watch the first 5 mins but ended up watching the whole thing, a bit gringe worthy and over the top at times but to be truthful i really enjoyed it, it was great escapism.

Halloween Kills: Absolute crap. I am pretty easy to please when it comes to horror movies (the previous one was okay) but this crap should never have made it to the big screen. I got cheap tickets but it was easily the worst movie I've seen on the big screen in a very long time.
Jamie Lee Curtis (the main reason to see Halloween Kills) basically does nothing in the movie as well has have very little screen time while some very uninteresting characters take centre stage. She is basically there to collect a cheque.
Rod Zombie's Halloween 2 is still the worst of the series but this movie is certainly the second worst. Save your money.

Pity they keep trying to milk these franchises and just tarnish them.

Thought the last one from a couple of years ago was a very good way to finish the lot off. Not going to bother with this or the next one, unless I get stuck on a plane with nothing else.

Saw the harder they fall yesterday.

Geez I enjoyed it. Great cast
I was expecting better... great cast but story was a bit weak. A lot of standoff type scenes lacked the intensity of great westerns. The final shootout in Redwood was an absolute mess imo

Saw Prometheus on FTA last night. It's about the fifth time I've seen it and I can't understand why it has so much negative reception. Great movie.

The haters probably get an erection watching such trash as the Fast and the Furious.

Talking of trash movies, those ones where the good guy is in a car chase at 100mph with four truck loads of highly trained and armed soldiers after him.

The good guy rolls his car, writes it off completely and jumps out without a scratch. The 30 odd soldiers start firing at the good guy and he returns fire with two eight shot pistols killing all but one.

The lone soldier chases the good guy into an abandoned warehouse where they punch on for an eternity on a walkway ten metres above the concrete floor. Suddenly they topple to the floor, get up if nothing happened and start punching on again.

Mostly ends with the good guy pulling a knife out from who knows where, stabbing the soldier to death.

Typical Hollywood crap. Thankfully I have SBS World Movies to watch.

It's not that bad, I like how it ties in with the first Alien. Covenant was probably a worse movie...

I like Aliens 3 and Resurrection which both get panned too.

Watched Alien v Predator on FTA last night. What did I watch?

May as well have watched two hours of the TV turned off. The lighting was so murky you couldn't make out anything.

I liked uncut gems. Familiar theme that I generally enjoy . Out of control gambler who keeps self inflicting damage. Watching a train wreck I suppose. Tense without redemption.

Many Saints of Newark. For Sopranos fans only. Would be hard to make sense of otherwise. Needs a part two. I will definitely rewatch when it hits tv. Lots of references for fans and there will be more on a rewatch.

Red Notice

The Rock. Ryan Reynolds. Gal Gadot.

I got your notice right here. This movie f**ken sucks the pus out of dead dogs arseholes.

Total horseshit heist movie. Rick and Morty were spot on about how there should never be another “heist” movie.

Heed my review and save your time on this Earth by not watching this dross!!!!

Negative spuds. 😤

I have to agree with you on the most part.

Reynolds and The Rock do their absolute best with the material given to them....no blame on them here. Gadot......as easy on the eye as she is.....is not a great actress.

Two out of five for me......I expected a lot better considering the charisma of the two male leads.

No Time to Die, probably my fourth favourite of the Craig era, only in front of Quantum of Solace.

Malek as the main villain was weak, not helped by the way he kept reminding me of his Freddy Mercury performance.

For Bond fans only, but I guess they all are.

My second favourite after Casino Royale. I actually find the other three to be average (Skyfall) to dud (QOS/Spectre).

Thought this one had some decent action scenes. Agree on Malek though and probably too much "emotional" stuff.

Ana De Armas was simply stunning, and sadly underused.
