I just watched Phone Booth for the first time.

Solid plot, very different experience considering when it was released.

I have this urge to watch Jeremiah Johnson again. I'd even throw Dances with Wolves into the mix

Watched The Covenant last night .
Very well made .
when Guy Ritchie makes movies they are either very good or just plain bad …This was good.
Story set in Afghanistan about an Afghan interpreter & A US soldier on the run from the Taliban. .
Jake Gyllenhaul is very good but Dar Salim as Ahmed the interpreter was outstanding .
8/10 from me .

Jake Gyllenhaal is a great actor. Probably doesn't get the credit he deserves. I find his method acting is right up there.

Fast X - I learnt to leave my brain at the door after the 5th one…

but even then… you can only suspend belief for sooo long…. SMH.

don’t get me wrong… it was a really fun popcorn flick… the call backs were cool… outrageous car stunts were what you expect from a fast film… although after 9 of these films where each vehicular set piece has tried to one up the last one… it’s now at the point where it’s pretty hard for them to truly blow you away anymore.

the story was kinda overstuffed with a pretty obvious twist I atleast saw a mile away… I guess they plan on all coming to head in the big finale but it makes this film suffer.

ohhh and…

Yeah as for the big Giselle reveal at the end… while that genuinely shocked me… that has to be the most ridiculous shit ever.

at this stage I’m expecting Paul Walker to come striding out of the next f**king film as he’s the only person they haven’t resurrected from the dead so far.

Edit: Ohhh… and Jason Momoa is brilliant as the villain… dude was channelling Heath Ledger’s Joker… best part of the film IMO..

Got around to seeing Matrix Resurrections finally.
My only question is why?
It wasn’t terrible but apart from it being nostalgic to have Neo and Trinity back, it was completely pointless.

I'm not sure of Fast X is a good or bad movie, but I think it's the most movie I'll see this year.

Agree with you on Momoa, the spoiler didn't shock me, I expected it at some stage, the mid credits one was more of a shock actually.

I hope they end it with an Endgame style big battle where everyone even tangentially related comes back.

What an extremely weird movie this truly was.
The angry pricks wife was a decent sort, that's about the only good thing I can say about it.

When they were in the forest at the beginning of the MP bit I thought I'd finally worked out what it was about, then it just got weird.

I assume the end game was what the cult was going for from the start, it's the only thing that makes any kind of sense, but if thats the case it just makes the whole thing even weirder.

So I ended up watching both Avatar 2 and Ant-Man on the weekend.

Avatar was pretty decent. Simple story as JC isn't the best writer but made up for in making an absolutely gorgeous movie with great action. He knows how to do action scenes. 7/10.

Ant-Man was an average, bizzaro world star wars movie. Didn't get annoyed by it but it wasn't particularly good. Just ok. 5/10

John Wick Chapter 4.
If you like way way over the top action you’ll prob love this .
Me ….I thought it was terrible …so far removed from reality & the 1st
JW movie( great storyline in JW#1)
This steaming pile is overly long .& Basically he’s an unstoppable super hero now .
& that’s not mentioning how a blind man can sword fight ..shoot straight & walk around better than those who have great vision .
4/10. & that’s being generous .

Just watching some crud on FTA called Fast and Furious. Part way through, a Marilyn Manson song was playing. Being a big Manson fan, I thought "I haven't heard this before".

But it wasn't Manson though, it was called Debonaire by the metal band DOPE. Can you sue someone for sounding exactly the same as you? If so, Manson would have wiped the floor with them.

Watched Cocaine Bear.
Found it quite enjoyable …reminded me a bit of Tucker & Dale .
As a far fetched comedy based on a true event it was intentionally over the top with Gore( effects were excellent) etc & i suspect the Ordinary CGI was also part of the comedy .
As a comedy I gave it a 7.5/10 .

The only Dope song I know is a cover of You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) from the American Psycho soundtrack (2000). And yeah…totally MM clone.

Just finished watching The Exorcist on NITV. The only other time I've seen it was at the cinema when it came out in 1974. Linda Blair was brilliant as was Ellen Burstyn. Blair was only 14 when it was made.

Keep an eye out for upcoming movies on NITV. They sometimes screen some real classics.
