I'll take your point Charlie, it depends on the question, or club game.

1st. 2009 Grand final run. Il never forget the prelim final vs dogs and the feeling that brought, but the whole last 3 months of that year was a dream.

I'll always put that above NSW winning a series. Especially the preliminary final.

But I still have so much passion for NSW, Im so getting behind my state, I'll be at the first two Origin matches and maybe the 3rd in Brisbane.

Someone ^, I hope you get to see Parra win a GF. In such games a set of 6 can be more memorable than multiple Origin series.

Of all the classic moments, the GF ones are far more memorable than the origin ones. Especially the tries - like Blacklock in 99, Kenny in 81, Albert in 97, Lord Ted in 77 (prick!), Gearin in 80, Fui in 09, Richards in 05 and Chicka in 89.

I remember fui's try, but not much of the grand final. went too fast and the Eels were never in the game imho despite the scoreline. After hoffmans try in the 5th it was 75 minutes of torture trying to chase them down.

Hopefully i do get to see parra win, it would easily be no.1.

Thats also another reason why i still love the whole threatre of the grand final etc, some moments stay with you forever, although imo the past couple of grand finals have been shit. we are due for a cracker gf this year.

I love watching most Origin games (though NSW have had some shockers lately), but I merely enjoy some club games. And I'm not sure the word "enjoy" describes how I watch some Sharks games (especially finals- i'm a wreck).

But I'd take a club win (one single win) over an Origin series any day. Actually, many times in the past I have gone for Queensland, and only with Gallen as captain do I really want NSW to win.

If it wasn't so gutting for the players, I'd just as soon see my club players miss the games and not risk injury. Since it seems to mean a lot to them, the next best thing I hope for is that they play well and don't get injured.

You forgot Gasnier in 2010, 2 tackles after Morris was clearly in... ;-)

On a serious note, you are right. And it's not just tries. I'll never forget Blacklock's try or my three favourite players combining in the second half (Barrett bomb, Wishart batting the ball back for McGregor to score) or Mundine being a hog and dropping the ball over the line. I'll never forget Royce Simmons 2nd try from the short dropout gone horribly wrong, or Alexander's sideline conversion. Andrew Johns calling for the ball with mere seconds remaining and putting Darren Albert through a gap. Matthew Ridge setting up Steve Menzies after clearly not being held. Steve Renouf's length of the field effort. Martin Bella dropping the kickoff. The whole Parramatta team (or so it seemed) piling into the last tackle of the game. Scott Sattler chasing down Todd Byrne. And I'll especially never forget the 5 tries we scored in the 2010 Grand Final. Each one is permanently etched into my memory.

There are some Origin moments that stick in my mind, but my favourite Origin ever, Game 3 2000, the only thing I can vividly recall is the Roach Bomb. If it had been the Dragons scoring 9 tries in a Grand Final, I'd remember exactly who scored each one and how they scored.

People that live in Brisbane are more insular than those in Country New South Wales?

Or the Cronulla race-rioters, or Parramatta, or Campbelltown etc etc.

Let the ridiculous stereotypes continue...

In general:

Queenslanders care more about Origin.
New South Welshmen care more about their clubs.
Kiwis care more about international footy.

Me personally i'd take a Raiders premiership over anything.

By the way..twats like Fatty Vautin describing Origin as the "34 best players in the WORLD doing battle" really f*cks me the f*ck off.

Its the smugness that fires me up most of all Jas.

Our time will come

Because NSW weren't smug when you were winning a few more than us? The NSW stacked commentary teams on TV still act like the last 6 years have been some sort of fluke or aberration.

You mean -
New South Welshmen care more about their clubs - since giving up on winning another Origin

Your "In General" comments are just your opinion and fly in the face of this sites own poll. You have some evidence to back up your claim?

People I know would rather see a Bronco's Premiership Win than a Qld SOO Win. SOO is a specatacle, for sure, and it's always good to win - everyone north and south of the border loves SOO (even if NSW is getting a bit churlish and pretending not to care after 6 years in the wilderness) - but ultimately the swings and roundabouts with who dominates are a bit arbitrary and influenced by selection and elegibility and which state has the best players at different times. The Regular Season is where you spend most of your time and emotional investment.

Origins in QLD sell out every single time.

Origins in NSW rarely sell out. Sometimes GF qualifiers rival them for crowd size (Dogs Vs Eels 09, Tigers vs Dragons 10).

Simply put, what I hate about Queensland is that the locals view themselves as Queenslanders first and Australians second, a point that is rammed home continually in the local media.
