Because NSW weren't smug when you were winning a few more than us? The NSW stacked commentary teams on TV still act like the last 6 years have been some sort of fluke or aberration.

Of course they f**king were, its part of the bragging rights of winning. It still pisses me off though mate and the way I see it Im entitled to be so.

Oh and if all the calls of "The best side in SOO history" and the fapping over Qlds big 3 is their way of saying its all a fluke then Id hate to see them actually praise the Qld side of the last 6 years.

FMD, would you like some salsa with that chip on your shoulder?

Simply put, what I hate about Qensland is that the locals view themselves as Queenslanders first and Australians second, a point that is rammed home continually in the local media.
Im a rabid Qlder but even i admit it is.cringeworthy sometimes.

I've always known that Australians hate Kiwis, but what this site and the great sport of Rugby League has taught me, is that Australians hate other Australians more.

By the way..twats like Fatty Vautin describing Origin as the "34 best players in the WORLD doing battle" really f*cks me the f*ck off.

That sh*ts me too, but fatty has no idea about rugby league so don't let it worry you too much. Problem is, other Aussies think this way as well.

In response to Bobbt DIDital's post -

Origins in QLD sell out every single time.

Origins in NSW rarely sell out. Sometimes GF qualifiers rival them for crowd size (Dogs Vs Eels 09, Tigers vs Dragons 10).

Origins in NSW are played in stadiums with higher capacities than Suncorp Stadium.

2009 at ANZ Stadium an Origin got over 80,000

2011 Origin II at ANZ - 82,000

They are usually over 70,000 at ANZ and have been for years.

2007: 76,924.
2006: 72,773.
2005: 82,389.
2004: 68,344.
2004: 82,487 (Decider

The only games in NSW that come close are Grand Finals and they get say 82,000. So it seems that NSW places just as much emphasis on SOO as Queensland.

See, I don't get that from the "local" media at all. A lot of our media comes out of Sydney anyway.

Every place has dimwits who take things a bit far, only a fool judges the entire population based on them.

Tony Archer said it on TV once as well. He was about to ref his first Origin game and trotted out the "best 34 players in the world line"...pretty f*ckin offensive for a ref to say that.

I think Jas is refering to all the "Qlder this" and "Qlder that" that permeates through advertising and such. One example is the NRMA ad where Webke says that NRMA had given him a car to "share with a whole bunch of Qlders"

The Channel 9 news promos are full of the same too. I cant recall this occuring down south

If Suncorp held 150,000 peeps they'd still sell it out every Origin.

In general:

Queenslanders care more about Origin.
New South Welshmen care more about their clubs.
Kiwis care more about international footy.

Me personally i'd take a Raiders premiership over anything.
You are a Kiwi... Have you ever been to NSW during origin? or QLD? Or just going off the media? NSW has been buzzing around origin time especially since we've started losing...

QLD makes me laugh. They bag out city/country as dumb yet if it was a QLD thing they'd be talking about how much "passion" it shows for QLD

I noticed it quite a lot when I was on the Gold Coast recently, advertising and news had contant references to Queenslanders. When Victoria was hit with massive bushfires a couple of years ago people were talking about Australian spirit and Australian mateship, etc. During the Queensland floods, all we heard out of Queensland was how tough Queenslanders were and how Queenslanders always helped their mates (ignoring the fact many people from the rest of the country helped in so many ways). Anna Bligh was one of the worst offenders.

Hey bro.

Would you take a Sharks premiership over ending QLD's streak?

I like City-Country.

Australia>Queensland> {distance} Titans>Cowboys>Broncos>the rest

SoO program should include all age groups to senior residents' inter-state games and City-Country should include Qld teams as well in a 4 way meet.

Not enough real rep footy if you ask me.

Exactly! Poor effort from whoever wrote the copy for NRMA, as anybody from south of the Tweed or west of the Isa hearing this ad could be forgiven for thinking that if they don't hold a Qld licence they're pretty much f**ked!

Travel to WA and geographically it feels like a different country. Travel to Qld, spend some time watching the TV, listening to the radio and reading their newspaper and you could be forgiven for thinking you should have brought your passport!

Knights Premiership> NSW series win FTR....
