I am very critical of BA. I reckon him leaving would have a similar effect to what Souths experienced this year.

Thanks to the way BA has built the squad our salary cap would be close to 75% full. Paulo, Fergo and Lane are already signed and Terepo has re-signed. There's nothing we can do there.I reckon Luke or (Api if we can't afford Luke) is critical in improving what we have. Without a good 9 we are f**ked. Also continuing to play Norman And Salmon out of position is f**king stupid. PLay players in their best positions.

Don't re-sign the following off contract players: Kirosome, Kritchard, King, Vave, Hoffman and Davis who have offered SFA.

Release Bevan to the titans.

Oh and re-sign Hayne.
I’d also try to release Taka, Smith and probably Mennings to free up more coin to try and entice the kind of leadership we’re lacking

Same but realistically who would take Taka and Smith. Even Mennings we would have to pay at least half I reckon

The best thing about this forum is the people calling for us to sign Sutton or Luke are the same people who will be screaming next year when the “old” guys don’t perform.

The same people who whinged that we signed Watmough and Scott.

Stones are thrown so easily......

What have the Cowboys done to replace the “GOAT” next year? They re-signed their coach too.......and they’re one win ahead of us.

This week and last week have shown me that you need a pack of beasts to win the comp. A hooker that challenges the markers. Halves that know where their beasts are and beasts that know where to run. Line speed and wrestle. All this leader stuff is BS.

People need to realise and accept that despite what is wished for on this forum, BA will be the Eels coach in 2019.

And from what I am hearing the review that is being conducted has found a few more issues than BA being the cause of all our woes in 2018.

The reality is that we are as far away off a premiership as we have ever been. I don’t see too much coming through to get me excited.

Our debutants this year did ok - but none of them wlll be superstars.

We are years off a premiership. 5 at least - but more likely 10.

I tend to agree. BA and the players did a great job on the field last year and masked a lot of the systemic problems at the club.

These problems go right to the top.

Who said it was that simple???
The level of focus on the coach is disproportionate to his contribution to the problem.

That tells me that some people don't fully appreciate the complexity of the shit sandwich that we are currently chewing through.

To take that analogy further, they think that the nugget only has tomato seeds when in reality it could have peas, carrot, corn and bits of mesculin lettuce.

disagree,

We need most of our main troops to stay healthy, Another year like this with injuries then no chance

You would have said the same thing about Smith and Cronk after they played a few NRL matches.
You just never know

Mahoney is doing well, lot of improvement in him, could be anything, expect him to be better in 2019
Niukore will get better, I prefer him to Moeroa
Salmon not sure

We know what Alvaro, Brown, Ma'u, KPritchard (off the bench), TRex can do (none played last night, throw in KE). Which other sides can have 6 of their starting top 17 out (all forwards) and are competing let alone in the top 8?? Dragons shit themselves when they had forwards out during origin and not recovering since. Add JPaulo, Terepo, Lane, Mahoney then there is a top 4 starting pack and bench.

The pressure is on BA first 10-12 rounds, especially if we have little injuries

You said last night you don’t think BA is the answer. What are the other things in your opinion that have caused us to run last?

I reckon the top 3 in no particular order are:

Coach past his use by date
AFL merkin not physically preparing us properly
A shit, unbalanced squad

A shit, unbalanced squad

Problem with this is that we were top 4 last year with the same cattle.

The $64 question is how does a team finish top 4 then fail totally.

How does the Dragons slay  everyone then capitulate.

How does the Cows play inconsistent rubbish all year, but play last night with such passion and determination that they were literally unbeatable even vs Storm, Bunnies, Roosters at their best.

The buck stops with the coach (and our coach’s position is really untenable) but I don’t think that us the real answer.

Paul Green dishes out the same BA excuses every week. What did Green say last night as to why they clicked ? He said that they lifted for the occasion.

“I think if you look across the park we just haven’t found our rhythm as a team for long enough periods yet.

“We’re good in patches but again tonight we started the second half with 12-from-13 completions but then finished the half one-from-seven.

“And they (Raiders) were just clinging on and we got plenty of opportunities in that second half but we just couldn’t throw the knockout punch.

“… So it’s not fair to just put it all on JT and Morgo, right across the board our combinations just aren’t clicking.”

Green added of the decision to hook Lachlan Coote and switch Morgan to full-back: “I just thought it freed him up to attack both sides of the field, Cootey had a bit of a rib issue coming into the game not that that’s why I pulled him off.

“But I just thought we were a little bit more dangerous, we were chasing points at that stage, had we led it might have been a different decision but I just thought we needed a bit of spark right across the paddock and I thought once Morgs was on the ball we looked a bit threatening.

While the Cowboys’ attack once again failed to fire, Green lamented his players’ defensive effort, with all four of Canberra’s tries coming from barge-over efforts.

“We didn’t get beaten by brilliant footy,” Green said.

“It was pretty simple stuff, we missed an assignment, they got a quick play the ball and they crashed over, particularly in that second half.

“It’s disappointing but when you’re struggling as a team to find your groove and find your rhthym all those little things come a lot harder for you.”

“… I was pretty disappointed obviously with the result tonight.”
