As far as i am aware Matthew Johns has done nothing LEGALLY wrong, morraly by some circles, but not illegal. By all accounts from parties involved the sex was consentual on both parts. And unless stated otherwise, is it just the footballers drunk???

So why the witch hunt and why the big trail by society on him.

where do those in the media and other outlets get off calling for his head?

Where is the common sense in this situtation?

Alcohol may be the problem but its not just the footballers that are drunk both parties involved are...

it is morally wrong, he cheated on his wife first of all.

Just because something isn't illegal doesn't make it ok. Its legal to marry your step daughter, doesn't make it ok.

i agree its morally wrong to cheat on a partner BUT so many people do it, its not like he is the first person to do it geez!!! just coz hes a public figure is why hes getting grilled, i dont understand why they need to bring this out in the open they dealt with it 7 years ago his wife and him are past it, the girl consented to it so why bring it up now after 7 years? why not bring it up when she was first starting to get depressed and stuff?

People are fed up of the sport that you and I and everyone else here love being dragged through the mud by people who should know better.

Whether it's illegal or immoral is irrelevant - sleeping around on your wife, and with several other participants at once, is just wrong. And it shouldn't happen. But it does. Continually.

Rightly or wrongly, Johns is copping it because he's an easier target at the moment. But he's copping all the flak that is directed at all the other wrongdoers.

Strangley enough, people dont like the idea of a drunk, half-wit teenage girl being coerced into being gang f**ked by 10 big assholes, which results in her being mentally scarred for the rest of her life.

For some reason, some people consider that distasteful, and the assholes that did it as animals.

And you know what? I can see the sense in it.

By all reports, she was LITERALLY asking for it, and later on bragging about it. Her mind only changed after he friends/work colleagues judged her actions.

She made a mistake. But it's not the footy players fault. She thought that she could live out some sort of fantasy and have a wonderful story to tell her friends. She was wrong.

Now she's making money off the story and trying to use it to ruin Matty Johns life. Meanwhile the media is trying to make her look like a victim (rather then the sl*t that she is) and ruin the career of a celebrity. Despite him being innocent of any crimes, and having worked out the issues with his wife 7 years ago.... they've dragged it up and given her the opportunity to ruin his life.

I agree. But it rated its arse off so channel 9 are happy. They were getting beaten by whatever that seven show was, but with plenty moral outrage they've beaten 7. That's all that matters.

He and the players had the right to have sex with who ever they liked... it is a relatively free world after all, and by all accounts nothing illegal was done...

On the other hand she has the right to sell tha story to who ever she likes and blab it to the world.. it is a relatively free world after all, and by all accounts nothing illegal was done...

Back in my day we were told NEVER do something you would be embarrassed for the world to know aboout.... especially when you are someone who others might consider a "celebrity"... its Johns fault he is in this mess... you do they "crime" you do the time....

Yeah its not like three of them went into the public toilet of a still opened and operating nightclub and engaged in sexual acts with one woman who at the time agreed to the idea.

Mr Gallops is going to wipe those type of players out of the game. Mr Gallop won't stand for that type of an incident happening in our great game.

Mr Gallop said, whether it is legally wrong or morally wrong there is no place in this great game for men like that that downgrade and disrespect females.

Hang on, this current incident involving the Sharks happend 7 years ago. 7 Years ago.

The THREE SHARKS PLAYERS involved in the nightclub incident which happend last year are still playing league, some for their country, The THREE SHARKS PLAYERS are still contracted in 2009............ ummhhhhhh hang on a minute, the three players arn't from Cronulla.

(Lifting the corner of the carpet and sweeping vigorously)

Shhhhhhshoooosh, don't mention the nightclub group sex incident of 2008 - afterall the police did thoroughly investigate it and nothing illegal happend did it, afterall. And Bruno did contact Mr Gallop and, and, and, and,

Cheers

thats what its looking like. it'd be interesting to see if other former staff came forward to corroborate that story

so far the only thing johns seems guilty of is cheating on his wife which isnt a crime in this country. in a way i reckon had it blown up in 2002 it wouldnt have been as bad for johns, i think voss said last night (and i agree) that johns is the scapegoat for all bad behaviour by players in the past 20 years, we keep hearing from people"we're sick of players doing this" but the incident happened 7 years ago

i saw this dumbarse journalist on some tv show talking to a woman who helps run courses with the nrl asking things along the line of "how succesful can these programs be if matthew johns did this" and her response was quite simple he had retired before they started these programs  dumbarse journo

Commonsense died some time ago, didn't you know? It died when newspapers and other media decided to start making the news instead of reporting it.

Also, why is it demeaning and discriminating to women when they choose to have sex with men they don't know? Why are girlie calendars offensive, but calendars of half-dressed men not?

I am a woman and can understand the frustration of so many of our young men today in trying to cope in a media controlled world where mixed messages are hurled at them, and then they are condemned for reacting.

There are some serious double standards happening here. The 3 Broncos in the toilet episode get off and no-one calls for their heads and has everyone forgotten the Bulldogs case. No-one calling for them to all be named, shamed and wiped out of the game. Goose Gould now refers to it as an "attack" when the police have confirmed it was consentual and no crime committed.
Prue Goward has called for rape charges to be laid. Who is she to take the high moral ground when her long term illicit affair with the former PM was common knowledge in Canberra.
The hysteria is snowballing and all these self rightous attention seekers are trying to get their minute of glory out of it.
